You have a good point. If any company is capable of making mistakes, it's Walmart.

We'll see.

I'm sure its a mistake, not only would it not be distributed by Disney and wouldn't have a exclusive set, in the bottom right corner it says DVD its clearly a mistake.

As of rn, Disney still claims it as being a diamond edition so it still has a while, most likely 2014 if it doesn't get dropped.

I am so worried about Aladdin and Jungle Book not being Diamond Edition.

I wouldn't worry about Aladdin as much because it actually had a paper in Latt stating it was a diamond edition. The Jungle book a lonngg time ago had rumors of disney considering dropping it, but that might have just been speculation. I think that the line up as of right now after Cindy is: Aladdin , The Little Mermaid, the Jungle Book, and Sleeping Beauty. By doing so, Disney will be able to complete the line fully by the end of 2014.

Yeah I know about the Aladdin insert in LaTT, but the new German trailer doesn't have any indication of "diamond".

If its any indication, I believe Disney makes these trailers before the movie is close to being finalized, most trailers are used with the previous restoration due to some reason unknown, my guess is that usually the transfer is not done yet. If thats correct, it could have been that when Disney made the trailer they had not yet decided to include this in the line up.

And I can't get a Cathy Rigby figurine?

So, worrying over nothing, then?

(As for Peter Pan--IF it's indeed coming out February, and Sam W. is the last person on the planet I would ask about that--if Peter was never "officially" added to the Holy Platinum List, well, whoever said it was?
Think, apart from The UK Document, the whole "They added it! They dropped it! " mania actually started when Disney re-dipped a Peter Pan SE DVD up from their Gold Edition to cash in on the Tinkerbell marketing, and then fans tried to find explanations why Disney suddenly vault-pulled it along with other titles. That's no smoking gun, and Peter could just have the same respected-but-unofficial "sub-status" as Alice does at the moment.
Aladdin, meanwhile, is the March '13 title that appears on the inserts, but it doesn't say February.)

THE official difference on paper is that Diamond editions are limited time, and will be OOP off shelves by January of the year after.

That's it for definition, although the fact that they're considered big-ticket flagship sales titles for the studio means we'll usually get a little more mastering time and a few more vault extras. Nothing's guaranteed, though, as it still depends on the print, and what they've got in the Archives.

don't forget cover art! Most diamond editions get verticle titles, and updated cover art. Disney has gotten lazy with some titles isn't updating the coverart and rehashing the same cover art.

Yeah I know about the insert, I'm just worried. Maybe your theory is right, maybe the US is getting Aladdin as a Diamond Edition, and Europe is not. That would suck big time. I don't know. You know Disney, they could totally pull that kind of crap.

For an example of the crap they pull my country has stopped doing Disney slipcovers -__- which is EXTREMELY annoying.

If anything by the way, Peter Pan should be as good as Alice in Wonderland. That one is pretty much a Diamond Edition except for the title, as good as it is.

And didn't we get the non-Diamond Alice and the Diamond Bambi in the same Feb-March two month period?
They've gotten used to the idea of February titles for Valentines'/school vacation as well as the Easter sales of March, so they've started to gear releases for both months.

Even if Peter might not be Diamond, that doesn't rule it out for unofficial "warmup" February.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't switch the two, because Aladdin has more of a love story sort of thing. Peter Pan would make more sense for March. Oh well!

The following wiki article is pretty good at explaining the truth behind the Diamond editions, and their relationship to the historical Platinum editions.

Same for the UK, a stand alone Peter Pan and Return to Neverland release and both films packaged together.

I HOPE the US isn't getting a double feature again, so tacky.
