ORDERED!!!

Didn't notice whether or not the price go down at the checkout stage but there's no way HMV will end up charging Ł25 for this. Only disappointment is there's no mention of there being a uncut version

HMV REALLY need to sort out their pricing system. There are loads of miss priced things like that and I'm sure a hell of a lot of people saw Ł25, LOL'd and never went back.

There isn't yet, but the certificate on the mock-up artwork for the amaray version is showing '15' TBC, so this could possibly indicate an uncut version as the film was a '12A' in the cinema.

Agree the price is a complete joke. If they can do Skyfall for Ł15.99 this tat should be Ł10 Don't expect many sales at this price.

This is Ł15.99 as well. If you add it to your basket then it shows the correct price!

No problem. It seems to happen quite a lot with HMV pre-orders!

I should hope the UK one is uncut since the US release is both the theatrical and unrated extended cut.

I can confirm the DVD/Blu is a 15 cert so is a higher rating than the one at the cinema. Not sure yet of what has caused the change but as soon as we have details will let you know.

Only thing I know for sure is it is definatley part of the film and not because somebody swears on the bonus features.

From the BBFC's site:

TAKEN 2 is a sequel to the 2008 thriller in which a man rescues his daughter from Albanian gangsters. In this second film the man and his wife are kidnapped by the same gang while on holiday in Turkey. His daughter has to avoid the gangsters and assist in rescuing her parents. TAKEN 2 was originally rated 12A for cinema release after a number of cuts were made following an advice viewing. This version reinstates the material that was removed from the cinema version and is therefore rated 15 for strong threat and violence.

[Show spoiler]There are a number of scenes of strong threat as people are chased and captured by the gang, as well as when they attempt to get away from them. After the main character's wife is kidnapped, she is shown bound and suspended upside down. A small incision is made on her throat with the intention of bleeding her to death. There is subsequent sight of blood dripping from the woman's wound, as well as some dialogue emphasising how long it will take her to die. She is subsequently rescued. Later in the film, the same woman is seen tied to a chair as she is menaced by the gang. A gang member threatens her with a knife, including cutting her clothes open with the blade and running the blade over her chest. In another scene, a man is being tortured for information. After he is threatened with scissors, including a suggestion that his ear might be cut off, the blades are thrust into his thigh, with the interrogator holding a hand over his mouth to stifle his screams.

There are a number of scenes featuring shootings and explosions as well as some moments of hand-to-hand fighting. The shootings occasionally show brief bullet impacts but there is no focus on blood or injury detail. The scenes of hand-to-hand combat include sight of punches, kicks and throws. Although there are some crunchy sound effects, no strong injury detail is seen.

There is some mild bad language, including uses of 'bastard', 'goddamn', 'shit' and God.

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.

Well good, because the 12A cert was a bit of a cop-out on this flick. Not that the studio cares of course, it made a bundle!

I know I shouldn't ask this, but I missed it in theaters - is the movie really that bad?? I liked Taken 1 a lot (love Liam) and love the Steelbook. I'm a bit of a complete-ist so I'd like to get Taken 2 to go w/ the first Steelbook.

Second question, will this have just the uncut scenes version or will it also have the theatrical version as well?

No idea on the first one -- never managed to watch it in the cinema, but a lot of people have said it's as enjoyable as the first one, which sounds good -- but, on the second question, this will be an uncut version. Whether it also has the theatrical version as a choice on the disc is something that hasn't been released as of yet, but maybe it will.
