Gillian got much hotter as the series wore on in years. She was pretty plain in that first season and even a little chunky for a television actress, but compare how she looked then to the time of the movie. I have a hunch she went on a severe diet and had some plastic surgery done.

Gillian was pregnant with her daughter, Piper, for much of the second half of season one and the first half of season two. That's why the writers concocted the "Scully gets abducted by aliens" plot thread in season two to explain her absence for a few episodes. There's even a shot of her actual pregnant belly in one episode, when Mulder imagines what she's going through.

Wow, Gillian Anderson's kid must be nearly 20 now. I wonder what she looks like.

Me and my Fiance are big fans of this show. We are actually in the middle of season 4 of our return to the series run through. Glad to see there are many fans of the series still around.

... and Gillian is definitely hot. haha

She is gradually getting hotter. Looks like plastic surgery, weight loss, and a new hair do were needed.

In Season 3, when Scully went through the Weapons detector and it sounded off because of the chip in her head I went ape shit nuts because I knew it was from the abduction. Man, I really hope all this stuff is revealed in the later seasons before T-1000 shows up.

Don't expect answers to all the questions raised over the course of the series.

Hmm... so the Mayans predicted the comings of the black oil monsters?

PS. Gillian Anderson can ride my face anyday of the week.

I've bought the complete boxset in february, and now I'm finishing season 3.
I'm really enjoying it, even if I think that all the government-conspiracy story arc is quite naive. Imho the shows gives it best with the stand-alone or 'monster of the week' episodes.

ps. I would totally marry Gillian Anderson/Dana Scully

Lots of drama going on with both Mulder and Scully's families.

Just started season 4. Mulder was brought to the farm with the bees and kids from Children of the Corn.

Nice! There are a cpl of sad moments early on in season 4 that reveal even more just how much those 2 care for each other. I remember my MRS. shedding a few tears.

This is the season Scully really starts to get hot!

This is my all time favorite show. I was a kid when it was on, and used to watch episodes with my dad and my sister. When my parents divorced, I kind of faxed from it, but about 7 years ago when they released the slimcase DVD sets I watched the whole series. I still watch occasional episodes here and there and pretty soon will probably go through the whole series again.
Just wish I could re-watch it without remembering anything!

I was a kid during the initial run, so I'd be lying if I said I remembered the political landscape of the 90s, but wasn't that very in line with the culture back then? Seems there was a lot of distrust/paranoia about the government back then.

Haven't seen the second one (I will once I finish watching the show)... the first one is alright, its really interesting seeing the show 'in a different light'. It's pretty essential that you don't skip watching it after season 5.

I was a kid too
But I was referring just to the narration style, not on the idea itself (which maybe it was even ahead of its time). Coninutity is a bit confusing, over-dramatic turn of events, and other things... I can't explain better since English is not my native language, so let me put it in these words: it was one of the first dramas with a series-spanning story arc, and it was also something new on tv. When you create something new, you have to experiment and test, and of course in doing that you committ some 'errors' or guilelessness.
When you see the show, you just notice them, that's it.

Instead, the monster-of-the-week episodes 'aged better'; they're not so different from similar episodes in toady's show (such as Supernatural).

(However, this is based only on the first 3 seasons of the show.)

I started noticing it in season 3 but now it's becoming more evident that she had facial surgery which I fully accept and am glad she did.

So I watch the first one after season 5 and the 2nd one after season 9?
