If you look at it as pure eye and ear candy, it really is second to none in my opinion! It's perfect demo material as there is no story to follow if you want to just show someone 10 minutes on your system. The opening sequence through to the fly fishing shot is one of my go to sequences for demos. (I'm talking the 2D version here, but can't wait to do the same with the 3D)! The video and especially the audio is INCREDIBLE!!

Well I got p**d off because they still hadn't shipped it, and got a refund, yes it was too good to be true!

Finally received my copy in the mail today!
Popped it in and it wouldn't play in my player.
It says it has been coded for Region B playback only.
The back of the case has the "A B C" logo which indicates that it should be Region Free.
Frustrating, to say the least.

I tried it in my Sony BDP-S470 & my slim PS3. Both gave me the same "Region B" message.

Well like I said, I cancelled it, but what shows up in my mailbox today, guess! Just going to play it now. I have oppo with region free addition so no problems that way. Also anydvd can fix it too.

Do tell how it is my man!! Is it a good or great 3D conversion? Worth an upgrade? Any other added features? Just to confirm, this is a region B locked blu?

Well, yes, it is very well done, however I'm using Sainsonic glasses with my W1070 Benq projector and the glasses are losing sync quite often. I have to use these glasses with the oppo because they sync at 144Hz which is a multiple of 24Hz playback.
I am going to play it back with Stereoscopic Player on the PC using 1080/60i and then I can use my regular optoma glasses and I know they don't lose sync.

So, yes, it was worthwhile. Still I can't figure out if I actually got charged for it. I got refunded on my CC via paypal but then it arrived so I don't know if they'll recharge me or not. I can't believe the timing of those things.

PS, yes it is Region B only.

I gathered up some snacks, packed my bags, kissed my wife and son goodbye and set off on a journey deep into the depths of ze interwebz....

It's a scary place.

And to no avail, I found no new information on 2012 3d except this: click here, through cinema dot com looking at Malaysia film releases I can tell you that the 2012 3D general release date was December 25th, 2012.

So no - nothing to directly answer your question. Let's just hope it releases over there BR3d and DDD comes through for us once again

*edit* - interestingly enough I did read an article that said the effect and extra scenes were "so intense to experience in 3d" there were talks around bumping the rating of the 3d version from pg-13 up to R.

The PQ, AQ, & 3D are all top notch. Pure demo-worthy material, for sure.

Does anyone know if the Italian edition found here - link - is Region A compatible? It says it is on both the Amazon page and the back of the artwork, but the artwork on the Australian edition says it's region free when it's not, and Amazon's region-coding information is often less than reliable.

I can't verify the accuracy, but the product information on the Amazon page does say that it's PAL, unfortunately.

The PAL format would only be applicable if there was a DVD included that needs to play on a European PAL display. Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3Ds contain only the universal standard for 2D AVC & 3D MVC encoding.

I’m gonna install it and watch my Australian 3D that’s been waiting patiently to be viewed.
