Ran into a couple of nasty cards last night in online matches. Biolith Ninja 4(2)MP/4HP/2AT Gains Perfect Dodge while on a Biolith square. Always attacks the back of a target. This is important to note since the center square is always a Biolith square, and cannot be Fieldquaked to change it (as far as I can tell, the center square is a Biolith square on the flip side 100% of the time as well). He makes a great anchor for the center square since so few things can hurt him. Novogus Golem 4(2)MP/3HP/2AT +1 Protection for each empty field on the board. This guy is very close to unkillable. Not a good attacker, as he's expensive and has a 2 activation fo 2 damage, but you really have to go out of your way to kill him unless your deck is just packed full of magic attacks. |

I've been posting my thoughts on how this game is in another forum..I have alot, but here is my latest:
Just had an interesting but frustrating situation. I managed to pull my White Cubic out and keep him alive, and I also had the Scionian Fire God in my deck. So I put him in for the Cubic, and then went to my next turn. Now at this point I have 3 creatures on the board including the God. The CPU had 3 creatures, one with 5HP, and two with 3HP. On my next turn I could have spent the 5 on the fire behemoth guy or activating my Fire God. Now this is what is frustrating. If I use my Fire God, I am guarenteed to kill 2 of the CPU creatures, but if I use the Behemoth I will have one more guy on the board, and I will greatly weaken one of his other creatures. It is frustrating because I SHOULD have put the Behemoth on the board, but it's sad to see that my Fire God will be a complete waste. Anyway, I killed his 2 creatures with the Fire God, and that put his mana way up. He was able to come back and get 3 more powerful creatures on the board, but I was able to slip in a 1/1 creature for the win. It was a close one, but again it didn't feel very satisfying because every grid was taken up, and I only won because I happened to be able to go first on that turn. |

a good trick with the white cubic is to wait to play him until you have the fortress or some other card that gives adjacent allies protection. that way they will be harder to kill, and can summon a big guy in its place.
gotta love protection + dodge. eventually i want to make an entire deck of things with either magic or perfect dodge. is there any card that is immune to magic attacks? |

Anything that has Invisibility is immune to all forms of damage. Mostly Ninja cards, but there's also the Aegis Citadel 5MP/5HP/1AT Fortress. Gives all other allied creatures that match the element of its square Invisibility.

I bought this game "for my kids", at least this was an excuse.
![]() This thread is great and I think it will make its way to become a sticky shortly. Btw, while just a couple of days ago the game was hard to find, yesterday I saw it readily available in a number of stores. However, the booster packs are gone with the wind ... I have never played any card games before and I am indeed just making the first steps in it now. But I already have a whopping 13 Honor in online gaming ![]() Keep the tips coming guys, they help noobs like me a lot. Thanks! |

Time to revisit deckbuilding 101.
With some more experience under my belt, here's some thoughts when putting your deck together. - There are 8 elementally aligned squares on the board, plus one Biolith square to start with. If your deck is predisposed toward one or more elements, make absolutely sure you have something worthwhile to put on those squares that your deck is "allergic" to. In other words, if your deck is majority Fire, make sure you have at least a couple of Water creatures in your deck that aren't easy to kill to play on those Water squares that your Fire guys need to stay away from. A good rule of thumb is at least 2 solid or hard to kill creatures of each element into a typical winning deck, though you can fuzz some of this requirement by using Biolith cards (which tend to be fairly hardy regardless of what square they stand on). - Have a game plan to deal with annoying creatures. Some creatures have ridiculous Protection (Novogus Golem), lots of Dodge (mostly Water creatures), or Perfect Dodge (several different cards). Pack some easily accessible Fieldquake or Magic attacks in your deck, or be prepared to have an opposing unit on the field that you simply cannot touch. By easily accessible, I'm not talking about that 9 cost Sciondar Fire God that everyone has. He's cool, but it's very rare that he's going to get you out of a serious pinch. - Don't overdo on Spell cards. I find that 6-7 Spells is the practical limit of what I can put into a deck before I run into issues with holding a handful of spells and no creatures to play. - Fortress cards suck. I don't know how else to put this. They suck. Se Hollyn Fortresss. Dungeon of Ten Tyrants. Aegis Citadel. All of them. They win you the odd game or two, but they lose you more games than they win. 4-5 summoning cost on them means that you're down 3-4 MP the moment you play one, and it rarely takes your opponent that much effort to kill one, with possibly the exception of the Se Hollyn Fortress on an Earth square. But the likelihood of getting an open Earth square that actually has units you control next to it just doesn't happen very often in practice, and the Fortresses are a liability in almost all other situations, since they can't attack at all (only counter-attack, and weakly at that). |

This has got to be the most un-informative game ever. There is SO much stuff that is left out of the instructions and tutorials, and nobody knows it. Look at this for example:
INCARNATIONS: Incarnations are another special creature. Incarnations can be summoned on top of another creature of the same element. When they are summoned this way, the cost is the difference between the incarnation and the creature it is replacing. For example, if a Hellfire Spitter is in play, the Scionder Fire God may be summoned on top of it for a cost of 8 instead of the usual 9. When summoned this way, the incarnation does not get an automatic attack and your turn does not end. Creatures that are summoned this way can not be activated on the same turn. You may still summon another creature afterwards (provided you have enough mana). |

Summoning an incarnation in place of another creature is pretty lame in most cases, unless you have a big beasty of the same element that's about to die on the next turn anyway.
I agree the manual is really threadbare, but truth be told, just like any collectible card game, the power of the rules lies in the text of the cards, rather than in the rulebook. |
