Doing better than expected. I hope to see it tomorrow or Monday.
For a WWE Studio film this isn't bad at all. Its actually really good numbers.

I think it helps that they finally realized that casting their wrestlers as the leading men wasn't going to cut.

Compared to most expectations I think it's an excellent opening. And it receive a B+ CinemaScore.

I saw the trailer, and who in their right mind calls up a number when the caller-before loosing connection-states there is an intruder in the house? That is just baffling from a professional 911 operator.Think this is gonna be a miss...

Absolutely astounding that this managed over $17 million this weekend but Berry (and Tom Freakin' Hanks!!!) couldn't open Cloud Atlas to more than $10 million opening weekend.
Just amazes me that more people felt compelled to go see this than Cloud Atlas.

Saw this yesterday. Went in with low expectations but it turned out to be way better than I expected. Though I can't imagine watching this movie more than once.

Oh yeah and since this is a WWE film, David Otunga appears in it (albeit a minor role)

One of them is a popcorn thriller that is 90~ minutes. The other is nearly 3 hours and full of confusing storylines. I think it is very obvious what Americans would rather see.

This is WWE Studio's most successful film now. I just love the irony that this movie has WWE Superstar David Otunga (a.k.a. Jennifer Hudson's boyfriend and "Punk" from I Love New York Season 2) in it, who plays a cop, wasn't pushed or used much to promote the film did better than The Marine which starred then WWE Champion John Cena, LOL.

Well Cloud Atlas was a three hour pile of poop, and this was a 90 minute suspense flick that was enjoyable.

If anyone can explain to me how anything was anything but pure garbage in Cloud Atlas, I'd love to hear it. Basically it was a bunch of stories that made no sense together all acted out by the same actors wearing different makeup. Garbage.
I will agree it had a decent score, but man was the rest of the film some of the worst stuff I've ever seen on the big screen.

This one of the few movies besides Side Effects that may be worth checking out. Perhaps I will have to rent it when it is released on blu-ray.

I actually thought the stories made too much sense, but I digress.

I agree that The Call is a fair movie but damn it really takes a turn for the worst in the last act.

It may be a by-the-numbers thriller but it's really entertaining and delivers on the thrills. Highly enjoyed it. Both Berry and especially Breslin were very good in it. I'd give it a solid B+.

Now, I wish the two ladies who sat behind us weren't annoying old hens who talked the entire ****ing time!!!! First comment during the trailers, "My god why do they have the volume so loud? People are going to go deaf." After the trailer for Evil Dead, "I don't know how people who write this crap can sleep at night." I made sure to say loud enough so that they could hear that I couldn't wait to go see it for my Birthday.

Random comments throughout the movie that I remember were "I could never be a 911 operator. I wouldn't last two days" and "That doesn't even make any sense." If only those were all. I was with my friend, her husband, and her parents, and my friend turned around and glared at them probably four times. Her father and mother also turned around and looked at them. Doesn't matter as that still wasn't enough of a hint and they continued to talk as if they were watching TV at home in their living room. I sat next to my friend, who was noticeably frustrated and so was I. I maybe should have asked them to please be quiet but I prefer to avoid confrontation. I just wish people would be more courteous. We didn't pay to listen to their conversation. Rude moviegoers are one of my biggest pet peeves and a big reason a lot of people I know would rather watch a movie at home. I love going to movies but the talking and people messing with their stupid phones has got to stop. The ads warning against this before the movie seem to do nothing to discourage these people. It can really take a person out of a movie.

I went to see the film with low expectations as well, and I enjoyed it. It was pretty intense tbh or at least I was just really into the film? I liked it though. I think it's funny when people just criticize everything in a film, but it's only a movie! Why is it okay for movies that are well received to be unrealistic, but when it comes to films like The Call or something is, it's not okay and bashed on.

It was Berry that sold the film.

Good until the final act

[Show spoiler] why did they take the law in to their own hands? it's not like he was going to get away with the crimes
they stole closure from the victims families, they're going to think the killer got away
after a while the lack of closure is just as bad as losing the family member
