Well, there goes 28 minutes I'll never get back. What a terrible, boring pilot. The only character I liked was Wichita, probably because I'm a fan of Maiara Walsh. Tallahassee and Little Rock are completely miscast. Both are annoying as hell. I didn't laugh once. There were scenes where they 'tried' to make Tallahassee funny but it was just painful. Little Rock doesn't even look like she can handle a gun. I'm disappointed. It was 28 minutes but felt much, much longer. I kept waiting for it to get better. It never did.

I feel for you. I only watched the trailer, I couldn't imagine watching the pilot lol.

I actually didn't think the show was terrible, but I think it was a mistake to base the characters on the movie's characters. The actors bear no resemblance (physically or in the way they act) to the movie characters and I think they would have been better off creating new characters for the show.

Ended up watching it the other day. It was just OK, but I agree the Casting is horrible.

I for one felt this had some potential.

The actors and characters aren't the same, but I used to watch a lot of Anime and got used to the "same" people being different from series to series so it didn't really bother me.

Certainly not movie-quality though.

I actually laughed a couple of times during the intro when they were having a totally mundane conversation with all the zombie mayhem going on behind them.

The opening scene was great. The rest of the pilot sucked. The cast was horribly picked.

We have some bad, but not unexpected, news on Amazon's "Zombieland" pilot. After debuting the pilot episode a few weeks back, Amazon has decided not to take it to series. Customers were invited to view the pilot and voice their feedback, and that feedback was going to help Amazon determine whether it should move forward with a series. But even before the show made it to Amazon fans of the original film were crying 'foul', which didn't bode well for the potential series. Once it was released...well, reviews were definitely mixed, to say the least.

Now "Zombieland" co-writer/executive producer Rhett Reese has taken to Twitter to vent a bit upon hearing the news that Amazon will not be moving forward with the series, stating...

Our Zombieland series will not be moving forward on Amazon. Sad for everyone involved. I'll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence. Anyway, we did our best, and we're very proud of our team.

While I didn't outright hate it (there were elements that were enjoyable, although they were few and far between), it certainly didn't capture the magic of the first film. Personally, I would've liked to have seen more as most shows don't hit their stride until a few episodes in, but through Amazon's feedback system the people have spoken: Amazon's "Zombieland" is dead, and I doubt it will be rising from the grave again.

The show was based on the hit Columbia Pictures movie of the same name, and found our four survivors outwitting zombies and searching for a place to call home. The Zombieland pilot came from the feature film’s original creative team, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, The Joe Schmo Show), and producer Gavin Polone (Gilmore Girls, Curb Your Enthusiasm). Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) directed the pilot.

I thought it was pretty bad regardless of any ties to the movie.

I thought the pilot was decent. Certainly better than most other things on network TV right now. Would have liked to have seen more.
