As the title says G4 is going to be rebranded as The Esquire Network. The channel will be programmed by parent company NBC and Hearst Magazine, which owns Esquire magazine, although it will be fully owned by NBC. NBC cable head Bonnie Hammer described the new channel as "an upscale Bravo for men," and said that they were moving away from G4 because "Realistically, guys who are into gaming are not necessarily watching television."
The channel will feature repeats of Parks & Recreation and Party Down, as well as shows about cars, politics, world affairs, travel, fashion and cooking. Two original series are “Knife Fight,” a reality competition about “after-hours cook-offs” among young chefs and a travel show featuring celebrities called “The Getaway.” http://www-nc.nytimes.com/2013/02/11...on.html?=_r=6& |
