They just mentioned at the end then that the timed exclusive deal was part of the old contract that was revealed because of the lawsuite againt Activision last year, but the contract has changed and it will be out for PS360 and next gen platforms

Better stay that way too!

I'll reserve my judgement until I see some in-game footage. But color me intrigued to see where this goes.

Sent from my Galaxy S3 using carrier pigeons.

Wasn't the 10 secs of in game stuff enough for you

I agree I want a nice big gameplay trailer, but since it all takes place in an online world I'm not sure how much the could convey it's epicness

I'm interested to see if the magic abilities tie in to the Multiplayer mode. Magic in my FPS? Why not

Whats not to love about that? It's like Planetsie 2, Boarderlands, and HALO all rolled into one massive FPSMMORPG!

dat next gen hype!

All the ingame footage spliced together. Theres actually a minute and a half of in game stuff, thats like a teaser trailer amount don't know what the press is moaning about really.

  • Online-only
  • No subscription
  • No "main menu"
  • Matchmaking and game matchups done on the fly in-game, rather than through lobbies
  • Hub "public" zones that are all 3rd person. This is where you meet up with players, exchange loot, etc, etc. The one described in the news is on Earth, the Last City and mainly in a place called The Tower, but there are others on the other planets, too, apparently. One for Mars was suggested.
  • Raids/Dungeons
  • Game will seamlessly add players in and out of your co-op or solo adventure, think like Journey-style.
  • Takes place in a variety of locations: Earth, Venus, Mars, The Moon, rings of Saturn, Mercury, moons of Jupiter... more could be added
  • Each planet/location is treated as a "book" as far as story and structure is concerned. You can play and unlock new chapters within each planet's book.
  • You can get your own ship, and can customize it. Higher level = better ships.
  • Similarily, you can customize your character, appearance, skills probably, and weapons. Vehicles too.
  • Only human are said to be playable so far.
  • Three announced classes: Hunter (like a Rogue class I'd say), Titan (like Spartan I guess), and Warlock (magic user). Yes, there is magic. Space magic
  • No word on space combat or space travel, but if you get your own ship, I don't see why not.
  • Game will have no loading screens, no progress bars. Implying seamless travel from location to location.
  • Ties in with mobile apps and social networks, ie: set up parties and missions, get allerted of new chapters available, new locations, events, etc. Customize character...
  • Races are: Human, Vex (time travelling robots), Spiders Pirates, Cabal (rhino people), and some others
  • Faction Wars features, competitive hoppers, not very elaborated upon.
  • "Squads/Crews" look to be up to 6 people, but you can imagine that you could have pairings of multiple squads, or enemies.

I love that Bungie are reinventing matchmaking all over again for this game, all done on the fly no lobbies, love to see how well it works.

Before HALO 2 came along there were no lobbies or parties or anything on easy to use like that for online games. Bungie set the mark.

Looks very interesting. I'll need some more info on the game and the next gen consoles themselves before making any kind of decision though.

I dunno about reinvention. Probably just work similar to World of Warcraft.

If the gameplay is polished and runs smooth we are in for something really special.

Above outline seems just that.

Will probably work for the consoles since consoles players have no idea what MMOs are about, nor have ever experienced one.

I don't think it would be a bad idea but I don't know if I would play it. I guess give it a chance.

And that was the start of the ruination of online gaming in my books. Screw matchmaking, GIVE ME MY SERVER BROWSERS!

But since this is supposed to be an MMO (I think), I'll let this one slide.

That's why I assume it'll be like World of Warcraft. You won't be staring at a screen, like in Modern Warfare, waiting for enough people to start a match. You'll just use some built in functionality to tell the game you want to run either a random or specific dungeon and it'll search for other players doing the same. In the meantime, you'll be running around the game world like you normally would.
