Hey blakeyamc, you might want to replace RRabbit!

Yes to anything stop-motion. Yes to fully motion captured (movies like Beowulf, but not like Avatar).

Glad you loved it. The Man Who Planted Trees is one of my all-time favorite films. I think every animation fan should go see it. It's seriously mind-blowing.

Just re-watched Toy Story 3 and feel bad for putting it so "low". To be fair though, as much as animation is always lumped together as if it's a genre, comparing many of these films is like comparing apples and oranges. Some are action packed romps whilst others are like a comfort blanket which you can just sit back, relax and get absorbed in the world of. Some have big laughs whilst others have a great deal of heart. Some have both but that doesn't necessarily make them better than the rest. Even with the visuals, all the films offer great visuals (even South Park) but the different styles of animation all result in a different experience for the viewer. Some may offer more beautiful backdrops whilst others provide more expressive characters.

Still, I'm really interested in seeing the results and, given how a couple of people have rated it, I can't wait to see Grave of the Fireflies when the UK blu is released later this year.
