So, in this case, the problem is with Vudu not supporting HBO shows as UV. It has nothing to do with "the pipe dream that is UV." This one is all on HBO and/or Vudu. Last edited by bsweetness; 03-16-2013 at 08:26 PM. |

yeah pretty sure order doesnt matter, i usually do vudu, itunes flixster.never had an issue with it. Just make sure when your buying codes from someone you list what version you want, or see if code is unused. I have only done this with hbo shows though.

Just thought I'd chime in (hello, by the way... new member here.
![]() I redeemed Game of Thrones Seasons 1 and 2 thru the HBO website for Amazon and Flixter. I figured having the UV copy would get it in my VUDU account (which was wrong as its been discussed extensively in this thread) so I went the Amazon route. Seeing as how I didn't need it to stream via amazon and via VUDU, I kept the amazon credit for future purchases. Then I read about people using it for iTunes, so I tried it a few days later... worked just fine. So with this one code, I got almost 40 dollars in Amazon Instant Video credit, a UV copy (that I'm still emailing with HBO about to get connected to VUDU) and the iTunes copy. Loving. Life. While I'm on the subject.. I redeemed the iTunes code on my iMac and now everytime I open iTunes on my laptop, it tries to download here as well, which I do not want to happen. I barely have enough room to accommodate the HD series and every time I delete it from the download queue, it reappears when I reopen iTunes. Apple help was of zero help on the matter. Thanks. ![]() |

so that in the event that the shows disappear/pulled-out from iTunes, their support would tell you that they're not responsible for your loss. |

Not sure how that happened, but I wouldn't make a habit of that. 9 times out of 10 when you redeem a credit on Amazon for a digital copy, it's for that title only.
In fact, they're so strict with those credits that sometimes you can't even get the HD version, only SD. I had that happen last week with The Grey. The credit was worth $14.99, and Amazon was charging $9.99 for SD and $14.99 for HD. But they wouldn't allow me to use that toward anything but SD, so I have $5 in useless credit just sitting there in my account now. |

no kidding? did you check if you were charged instead?
In my experience, I have to agree with Adam_ME. I bought another movie and that credit was untouchable, I asked Amazon support - and they said that the credit is only meant for the SD version of that (same redeemed) movie. |

ok, so I accidentally applied the first credit to my wife's account. Amazon customer service manually switched the credit to my account and then I added the 2nd season. The amazon customer service rep is actually the one who told me I could use it however I saw fit. It even applied as a credit to the kindle store, the mp3 store, etc. So it could have just been a fluke with the first code.
I'll let you know how it goes when I burn up that initial credit. |

Amazon system works in such a way that the (promotional) credits are deducted first, then the giftcard credits[which I presume customer service has switched it to], then finally via your stated payment(creditcard). if u've bought any amazon instant videos, and the (promotional) credit didnt get deducted the the first time round, then it's not meant for anything else other than the title that you've redeemed with the code for. |

I chatted with an Amazon Customer Service Rep who confirmed they were restricted promotional codes, but the content was no longer available. Very strange, because I could pull up both seasons of Game of Thrones on Instant Video, but it said, "this title cannot be purchased using promotional codes." The service rep said, "at the time this promotional balance was issued, the season was with different provider and that promotion was meant to apply on their content." So they then converted the restricted balance to a non restricted promotional balance. I think I'm dodging a lot of bullets here, and I feel as though my karma is running low, so I will not be assuming this again for future promotions. haha... Thank you for making me look into this. |
