I just picked up the player today on sale for $49.99. When I got home did the code and popped in my Arrow Black Sabbath blu and it played great. Now I can also play my PAL DVDs again.

Well... I guess short of lucking out and finding one still in one of the stores, these things are gone. Sears nor K-Mart have web pages for them anymore, and you can't find them on Ebay or Amazon. Ah well...

When I saw Sears removed it from their website I ran out today and bought one from B & M. I wonder if the price will drop any lower with stock on hand. The day before yesterday the website showed they were available in all San Fernando Valley stores.

I will be returning the player this afternoon and exchanging it for a new one. I will report back with the results of the new player later this evening.
Well I am happy to report with some good news. I purchased a new player and watched Rounders the whole way through without any problems. The sound never got distorted at all. I guess the first player I bought was just defective after all. Hopefully the trial and error I have put myself through over the last 3 days will help everyone decide weather or not they want to purchase this player

All 2012 and 2013 standalone Blu-ray players are required to have CINIVA. Any new Blu-ray player that does not have the feature is in violation of their licensing agreement.

Considering it doesn't honor the region code requirement, I doubt they bothered implementing Cinavia on this player. If you are concerned about Cinavia, all older Blu-ray players made before 2011 or so are guaranteed to not have it.

The unit converts all PAL material to NTSC, so there shouldn't be a problem.

That doesn't guarantee it converts 1080i50 > 1080i60. The Denon players that convert PAL > NTSC don't convert 1080i50 material, they output it natively.

Seiki does not list it on their site for some reason. I emailed them the other day inquiring about future firmware updates for the player, but I have yet to get a response. If you wish to buy the player online or get specs, go to Sears.com or Kmart.com. As far as Cinavia protection, I can't answer that for you.
