I'm surprised nobody posted the trailer. Looks good.

ugh. I hate 70's period movies. Everything about that whole era is just so ugly.

I like Seyfried and a lot of the cast, though, so I'm sure I'll check it out, though probably not in theaters.

So Amanda Seyfried is portraying a porn icon and my only real reaction to that trailer was 'cool, Bobby Cannavale is in it'.

I'm not gonna lie - I'm a little confused right now

The trailer actually looks good. Could this be the new Boogie Nights?

Wouldn't count on it, you are talking about one of the best films from the 90's! Not to mention it was directed by one of the premier directors versus two relatively unknowns. These 2 films don't appear to be close in tone either (Lovelace seems to be more of a straight drama where as Boogie Nights had quite a bit of humor in it).

Having said that, I am highly anticipating this as well.

Eh, I'm still kinda burned on screenwriter-embellished classic-film bios ever since "Hitchcock"...

For those who just want the pop history, Fenton Bailey's documentary "Inside Deep Throat" is a more incisive (and less Lifetime-Network) look back at 1974--
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418753/
Can you believe there was a time when--since it was one of the few X-rated movies anyone had ever heard of since the days of Swedish films--everyone thought Throat's obscenity trial was "striking a blow for the Sexual Revolution", mainstream theaters started showing it to cash in on the notoriety, and upscale folk started bragging "We're going to a porno movie!" as if that was the new Studio 54 playground of the sophisticates?

Looks good, I will probably catch it when it hits Netflix. Any more Sarsgaard is a good thing.

Looks riotously awful. Ron Howard tried adapting Ordeal about 15 years ago. That would have been infinitely more interesting.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they won't be broaching the subject of her doggy loops.

The trailer is nothing special but I still have some faith in the project. Can't judge a film by the trailer. Seyfried will always put my butt in the seat.

There's no way it will be that good. This should be watchable though.

I think the UK trailer is much better than the USA trailer we are getting.

She looks more like an Annette Haven or Loni Sanders than she does Lovelace.
