What's your problem...oh, wait, I should of put something else.
![]() Well they're fictional characters in a film I wasn't all that engrossed by, so not really, plus her finding out in this would of been a bit of a stretch considering the mechanics. ![]() (And in the end the main character learns in other ways that time travel isn't all that) |

Just returned from a screening and I really enjoyed it. A solid 4/5 for me.
Surprised Rachel McAdams was in this, though, as hers is really just a supporting role that could have been played by anyone. Domnhall Gleeson's performance was quite impressive. He surprised me and should have a good career ahead of him. |

I don't know where you live or anything, but I'd think an hour is plenty. I mean it's not a major blockbuster or anything.

My friends and I got to the About Time screening two hours early and were the first ones there. We got to go in and sit down right away, which was nice. It was about an hour before the movie was scheduled that others started coming. Outside of a couple floor seats that were left it was at capacity in a 250-seater. No trailers were shown.
I think the audience loved it. Lots of laughs and everyone seemed really into it. There was scattered applause at the end. After "About Time" I think Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary, Four Weddings & A Funeral) may just be the best in the business when it comes to romantic comedies. There's only one I wasn't crazy about (Notting Hill) and I think a re-watch of that may be in order as I was really young when I saw it. The others would be favorites of mine. "About Time" is beautiful and hit all of the right notes for me. It has a great message. Domhnall Gleeson is perfect as Tim. Really charming and loveable. Matching him perfectly is Rachel McAdams. The two have great chemistry. This is one of her best performances as well. The always likeable Bill Nighy is terrific as Tim's father. Their relationship is so moving. Made me want to give my father a hug. This is a total crowd-pleaser. A delightful film about love and life. Call me sentimental but this film is my favorite so far this year. I'll be seeing it again when it's officially released and highly recommend it. The ads for the film don't do it justice. 9/10 (A) |

I love that the TV spots are using the song "Wake Me Up" by Avicii. |

I've never even seen Love Actually or Bridget Jones or any of the director's other movies and never plan on it either. Rachel McAdams is the only reason I want to see this. I thought her previous time traveling movie was okay.

And why not? You should watch Love Actually this holiday season. It's one of the best holiday movies ever.

I saw this last night at the advance screening in my city.
To start off with, let me clarify that I do not like romantic comedies. I avoid them, and I went to this quite honestly with some mischevious delight in dragging my husband to see a romantic comedy (because he hates them even more than me). But, I won the tickets, so I wasn't going to let them go to waste (or at least that is what I told him). The movie blew me away. They keep promoting it like a romantic comedy, but I think is more of a life-drama with some great sarcastic humour. I didn't feel like I was watching a romantic movie, yes, there was romance and love, but it wasn't a movie focused on that alone, it was sooooo much more. I am trying not to give spoilers, which is why I am being very vague... but if I can leave you guys off with a summary of my opinion: I hate romantic comedies, this movie was promoted as one, it isn't, I give it 9 out of 10. |

It's a great movie. Real pleasant surprise too, since these always, like a couple other genres, tend to go the same route. Blows all those shitty rom-coms that do so well out the water. Hope it does well.
Also, Time Traveler's Wife, agreed, does not hold a candle to this. I wanted to love that movie. Great concept, McAdams, but it was forgettable and not worth my time. |

Glad you guys loved this as well. By rights this should be a leggy hit throughout the holidays but I'm unsure if it will be. The ads just don't do this movie justice! I absolutely believe if it opens strong enough when it goes nationwide that it will have staying power. Audiences should love it.
