What a steal, that UK price is crazy! (And the US price is a laughable $83.99, so there's no reason to buy from there!)

Can anyone confirm whether the contents of these UK sets are literally identical to the North America release right down to the encode for all episodes AND all HD and SD special features? Or is there some PAL frame rate content anywhere on these that could cause playback rate issues on US HDTVs?

Wow. Just used my currency converter and the UK price comes out to about $33 (excluding shipping). That is very tempting considering that the lowest we'll probably see at release for the U.S. version is $60. Now I just gotta ask myself, how important is it to have consistent packaging (HATE the UK rating logos on the cover box) and what about the Best Buy VAM?

You can bring that in slightly lower, Captain Mal, if you have a credit card with a bank that does not charge conversion fees (such as CapitalOne) and you opt out of the Amazon currency converter (assuming the exchange rate does not change drastically by August). And that's with shipping (standard) to US. The advantage to the currency converter though is your price locks in today regardless of rate changes.

I say preorder first, as packaging questions later.

(edited my initial conversion amount...used euro by mistake the first time)

I'm as nitpicky about packaging differences as anyone, but for a $50 discount, the cover art could be drawn in crayon!

For a potential $30 price difference depending on the price of U.S. edition, I would say it's well worth getting it from the U.K. regardless of any VAM it doesn't have.

All prior Trek Blu Ray releases have been region free and identical. No reason to believe this one will be different.

That pre-order deal is dead; the price is now at a "normal" price of £42.01.

My already-purchased preorder still says £21.26, so hopefully that pre-order guarantee applies.

The price drop - whatever it is - will come on the Sunday before release date when Best Buy/etc. has their ads in the papers.

Heads up. Deepdiscount has a coupon that's good for today only for 15% off. This includes pre-orders. I got Enterprise Season 2 for $64.55. Probably the best price before street date, but you've got to act now. Code is: Summer15. Thanx to Noiradelic from the bargains thread for the heads up.

Not suprised, but will still be picking this up. It's worth to me for the extras and I don't own the DVD's.

I wasn't planning on picking this up until I was able to grab it for a significant discount, but from the review, the extras sound absolutely fantastic. I might have to grab this sooner than I originally planned.

Yeah, the praise for the extras have definitely piqued my interest. But even after reading the candid review of the content, I'm too stubborn and can't see the value in spending money on this series except for S4. That's still the only season I bought on DVD and will likely double dip on when it's released. But I do want to see those new bonus features. Wish I had local friends who enjoyed the series enough to buy these so I can borrow them.
