That's a bit weird.
Why would it all of a sudden take on a new look? In all the Alien movies, the alien has just used other lifeforms simply as incubators. They never morphed into their form. |

The director originally had it as one of the cows that inhabit the planet. The director's cut was a much better flick than the original. But yes, the Aliens have always taken on characteristics of their host. This is not a new concept, the "Predalien" was taken directly from the comics.
