"Well, its still on its way, though action icon Arnie dropped out last year after reportedly seeing the original upon which it was based"

Ha hilarious. Why would he show intrest in something he knew nothing about?

Arnie knows how to choose them, even comedy films like Twins and Junior he knew what would make the audience laugh and what would be a step too far.

Conrad Vernon To Direct ‘The Toxic Avenger’ Remake.

Quote:
Sausage Party co-director Conrad Vernon has been set to helm The Toxic Avenger, the live-action remake of the signature schlock franchise launched years ago by Troma. This version is a more grounded and mainstream telling of the story, and it’s set up at Bob Cooper and Richard Saperstein’s Storyscape Entertainment. Saperstein is producing with Akiva Goldsman’s Weed Road and Charlie Corwin. Mike Arnold and Chris Poole, the duo behind Archer and The Grackle, are on board to rewrite the screenplay by Steve Pink and D.C. Mitchell. Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz of Troma Films, creators of the original franchise, will executive produce along with Cooper and Alex Schwartz of Storyscape Entertainment, and Greg Lessans of Weed Road.

I hope this is sarcasm or you haven't seen his last 4-5 movies (except Maggie which was ok)

Glad he dropped out. He would be all wrong for this unless he played the corrupt mayor.

What are they thinking? It's fairly obvious this won't work unless Tom Sizemore is starring.

Directed by Macon Blair, director of I Don't Feel at Home in this World Anymore. I haven't seen, but I feel more inclined to check it now, and it was well-received so yeeehawww.

I don't know what to expect from this. So it's intriguing for sure.
