This is the quantum physics star trek phaser, when it came out the price was 50.00 made in polystone.

So 50 (phaser) + 30 (3d blu combo) = I think is fair, but if it is plastic this is too expensive............

The only way I would pay this much for this release of the movie is if it included a date with Alice Eve and/or Zoe Saldana.

Wow! Perhaps this will be metal as well. Just seems like too low of a price for metal, but hey I guess we'll find out when the details are released.
Either way, this puppy is mine!

The only way I'd order this (and I'm a big Trek fan) is if both the phaser AND BD CASE were both made of metal. Otherwise, I can just wait for the steelbook to be announced.

P.S. I have the limited edition Enterprise model from the first Amazon exclusive release and it is solid metal. Heavy little bugger too. Top quality!

Just by looking at the large pics posted I'm gonna venture a guess and say this will be a plastic prop. That's too bad, because I'd gladly pay even a bit more for a metal phaser with some heft to it. Hopefully sometime between now and the time it's released, someone will be able to give us a hands on review of it.

I found one on Ebay that looks exactly like this one, the difference is that the one on Ebay is metal plated. It seems to have all the same markings in the same place, including the sticker being in the same place on the base/holder.

Yep that's the Quantum Physics Star Trek Phaser, It cost 50 when it came out. The question is the picture from the Amazon product is the actual picture of the prototype or a 3D render? It looks like plastic when you compare it with QP Phaser, but if the Enterprise that came with the first movie was metal as described by "Petra_Kalbrain" then there's a good chance that this product will be cast in metal at least in some parts.

This is made by QMx and is exclusive to Amazon...

...QMx created this weapon for the 2013 J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie. Using the same molds, we've created a stunning replica for you. The hero props in the movie have a servo-powered spinner to change the intensity setting from "stun" to "kill"; our replica is spring-loaded with an active locking mechanism that snaps the spinner neatly in place.

The Star Trek Into Darkness Phaser Replica is solid polystone core enrobed in metal plating with several finishes -- brushed aluminum, gun metal, and chrome -- to create an exact match of the hero phasers used onscreen.

The QMx Star Trek Into Darkness Phaser Replica measures 10.5 inches long x 7 inches high (grip included) and weighs more than one pound. It comes with a custom-designed display stand in black lucite and includes a brass name plaque.

Don't leave Starfleet without your Star Trek Into Darkness Phaser Replica.
The web site is here.

Did anyone happen to luck up and get this when it was first listed at 24.99? Just basing that off the price tracker graph...

Also wasn't this flip-around phaser in the first movie too? I thought I remembered them using it when they went to rescue Captain Pike.

Anyway, this looks pretty cool and may think about it especially if it drops in price some.

Keep in mind the duties to the UK will likely be fairly excessive from what I hear; might be worthwhile to have a US friend order it for you and ship it at a lower value or something. As much as I want this set its real pricey right now

I changed my order to Expedited Shipping, which states I have paid a deposit of $18.99 for Taxes, I hope it's not much more than that.

By the way, that was the 2009 (web site calls it Enterprise version) version of the Phaser, and is different from the new one. Looks very similar but there are differences... compare the pics on the QMx web site. So the only way to get the Darkness Phaser is the Amazon gift set... at least for now.

Hmmm, looks plasticy to me. Do they mean the entire phaser will be plated in metal or just the ends ect?

Here is a review, the only difference is that the new one (amazon) change from kill to stun . The last one had a $50 price and by the Amazon price is $30 for 3D, blu, dvd & digital copy and $50 for the Phaser so I think is a good price, but it will probably drop a bit close to the release of the product.

That's big. Do we know if the one that comes with the blu-ray will be that big? I fear that it will be quite tiny.
