Spiderbaby, there is also a 1920's poll going on too. The link can be found in the OP.

By the way, is Limite available on streaming anywhere?

I'm trying to come up with mine, but I'm so glad you placed Jezebel so high up on yours. I really love that film and don't think it gets as much credit as it deserves.

I'm going to stay away from trying to list only 20 films for the 1920s as well as a 60s poll. Too much stuff to choose from, I had a hard time only picking 20 for the 30s. If I change my mind soon, I'll try.

Here is Limite:

I've gone through everything I can think of that I've seen from this decade, and even including a couple of short films, I only hit a total of 18. I think I can find two more, assuming I get time to watch something.

Agreed. King Kong (1933) needs more respect. It is still a pinnacle of cinema after all these decades. The old ways are still the best.

I should add that it is with the utmost regret that the 1933 version of Alice in Wonderland just missed my list. It's a marvelously demented film, and, if you have young children whom you want to irrevocably traumatize, then you should put this film on your priority list at your earliest convenience.

There are simply too many great films in this decade to limit the number to 20. The 1930s really expanded the possibilities of cinema in a way that no other decade has matched.

Nuts, the 1930s are my weak spot.
Oh well, at least I have until July 20 to cram in some film-study sessions. Too bad the decade isn't represented well on blu-ray, I hate to spoil a good movie by watching it on my terrible streaming services, (my computer is a dinosaur, I built it in 2001).

Holy cow. I'm pretty sure I could fill this list from 1939 alone, but here is a selection of my loosely ranked favorites, attempting not to swamp any one genre. I also assume "30s" is 1930-39, rather than the mathematically correct 1931-1940. (1940 was another amazing year for Hollywood.)
