haven't seen the other versions, and the arrow was the 1st time i saw the movie, so everything looked okay to me

not calling you ignorant, just saying that if you saw it as originally intended, you'd probably feel differently. the cropping and especially the framing is quite hideous.

Remember people, this is a VCI release, not Scream Factory. lol.

They don't have the best track record, but at least the film itself will now be available on the format at a somewhat fair price, for those of us who missed out on the stunning BU release.

True, although when they do a good release, it's a REALLY good release (see: Dark Night Of The Scarecrow). According to their announcement, it's in the correct aspect ratio, so while I don't plan on getting it (I've got both Blue Underground's and Arrow's Blu-Rays, the former for the movie and the latter for the extras), the purists that missed out on BU's release will likely be pleased (assuming they don't use Arrow's color timing).

I must admit, I'm really on the fence about ordering the Arrow version for the extras (primarily), the reversible covers and the poster. Of all the Arrow films I do own that had the posters, I decided to get them laminated and tacked them up on my living room walls. Gotta luv my style of decor!

It appears that VCI is trying hard to do things right but nobody there actually knows how to go about it. They need a "savior" to go in and teach them. Hey, Cliff has done wonders for Shout and everybody knows they were as obscure as VCI before he came onboard.

I think it might be the UK edition. The release date matches closer to the UK edition than the US one.
