There is no mention of HDMI here (and from what I can tell there will be no HDMI).

This means that, like the cheaper PS3, when ICT comes in to play this box will downrez the ICT flagged movies. There is no choice because it does not feature a protected digital output.

I was always surprised that XBox 360 had no HDMI or DVI output.

I discovered that HDMI is not an open source connection, there is a licence to pay to use it. So I reckon this is why MS have not put one on the 360 or the add on drive. Cheapskates!

Supposedly the add on can only output 720p. But then of course, MS don't take 1080 seriously anyway...

Right now, I know that's no big deal, but it won't be long before all HD tvs have 1080p available.

So basically, no one knows. Personally I doubt we'll see HDMI on the 360, but is that a problem? I haven't heard any complaints about the HD graphics via component, and Sony aren't putting one on the 20gig PS3, so is it really that big a deal?

no worries, i'll sport the HDDVD add on til the ICT gets initiated in a few years and by then, they'll either be no format war, or players will be $99bucks!

Hell no! Even if prices get cheaper by 2008, I'm still not buying it. Worthless to make it external.

No thanks but this add-on is a waste for me. They should've made the XBOX 360 with an internal HD-DVD drive ever since day 1.

Now that MS is too late, I won't consider it.
