Jacob's Ladder Remake Planned - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

This remake bothers me so much more than most remakes. Jacob's Ladder is NOT a dated movie. It's still just as fresh now as it was over 20 years ago. Why feel the need to update a movie that's already just fine as it is?

The only reason I could see this being remade is because it's not that well-known of a movie, so Hollywood feels that they can pull it off and "modernize" the film without upsetting that many people. I want to give this a chance, but, given the terrible history of horror remakes, I'm not holding out hope.

I prefer to keep the "returning Vietnam vet" films about Vietnam. It's a unique time period, and a unique feeling. I think it's a mistake to make out after some other war.
