I've found this gem for only $6.00 at a local used media establishment today.

I came to ask if the Shout release was 2.0 mono or stereo. But wow, is this info confirmed - the UK BD is stereo but only DD lossy? Have you heard both? If so, what do you think? Anyone?
And is this the version you're referring to?

I own both....Shout's version is AVC and lossless Mono audio, UK version is Mpeg2 and lossy DD stereo.
In my opinon they are close audio wise, the UK sounding better as the score benefits much in stereo.
Video is much better on the Shout version.
The really strange thing is that Carlton release this fine DVD version with 2 cuts and a 5.1 track some years back, why on earth they did not get that second cut of the movie and the 5.1 track ?

That does suck. In that case, as much as I love stereo (headphones), I guess I'd have to go with the U.S. release. Do both BDs have the same green tint that Roy Batty showed corrections for a while back?

Picked this up for 9.96 at Walmart night before last as I had never seen it (but of course knew about it as I am a late 60'/early 70's kid) and really enjoyed this one. Great performaces by the ensemble cast, really nice bonus features. Highly recommended !!!

I've seen The Eagle Has Landed on cable TV (I can't recall if it was ever broadcast on any of the over-the-air networks in the early 1980s, but I know I did not see it in theaters in '76.) I've read Jack Higgins' novel; first in one of my mom's Reader's Digest Condensed Books volumes, then later I got the paperback, which I still have....somewhere.

Oddly, I have never owned The Eagle Has Landed on any home media format, not even on VHS. So, I ordered it from Amazon just a little while ago ($12.99).

A very belated reply, but both cuts are also included in the two disc UK BD steelbook that was initially a store exclusive:

Any of you get the imprint release with the collector box ? Is it worth the extra money vs the U.S. release ?

No, the extended version on the Imprint is a lousy upscale, I didn't even finish it.
