Certainly sounds plausible.

The only feature left out is the PIP video which I would suspect is left out because current gen BR players don't support this (It's part of BD-Live).

I couldn't care less about that myself.

The MI films are going to be the first of what I would call "critical comparision" titles.

Big name. Big studio. Big release on BOTH HD-DVD and Blu-Ray simultaneously.

This is going to be very interesting to watch...

I hope that if they do have MPEG2 they at least do a good quality encode.

I don't care what codec is used, so long as it looks awesome.
The HD trailers for MI3 looked awesome on my 360 when i downloaded them ages ago, im sure the movie will look super!

Those trailers on 360 would be VC-1.

<*Runs away*>

Wouldn't stop me buying MI3, but sooner or later someone should make a reference BD, just for the hell of it.

Those trailers also looked awesome on the Best Buy that feed would be mpeg2.

Like Vin Deisel said in fast in the Furious "I'm not Running!"

I don't care if it's mpeg0 so long as it looks awesome!

Unfortuately for BD, the M:I trailers did look awesome on 360, so if the BD doesn't at least match the quality, I might become a little upset.

Both of your statements are true. Here's a link to some upcoming BDs which are not using MPEG2: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=2400
