That guy is whacked because there actually is no such one set so to speak, as in the whole system in a box. Each speaker is sold separately and that's how you can mix and match. That's what I did at my audio shop in New Orleans. I "subed" the pro 1000 sub for the smaller 800 that would be part of the pro 800 system. I went with 800 monitors as I have a small living room- if you have the cash the pro 1000 should be great. Someday I may upgrade to those and send the front 800's to the rear for a 7.1 system. I'd also like to add another sub to have one on each side of the room for maximum impact. Right now I couldn't be happier with the sound I'm getting. Don't let those jokers at Best Buy mess with you - build your system the way you want it.

Go for the 12 guage on a spool.....pick the length you need.

if you want to save a couple of bucks go for the same in 14 or 16 depending oh how far your speakers are from your amp/receiver.

Unless you are doing a in wall install you donot need the in wall wires. So just pick the amount of cable you need at the AWG you decided on and go from there. But as has been said the lower the number the bigger the wire. And if you want the banana plugs they sell them there also.

Spool, a usually low-flanged or unflanged cylinder on which thread, wire, cable, paper, or film is wound for distribution and use.

Even in small rooms you will use alot more than you think.

Those pics show a lot of dust. You'd better get the PS3 out and vacuum them up

i dunno if you can be "too" thick as far as signal quality goes (unless you're running very short lengths), but as far as aesthetics, thinner wire will be easier to hide, obviously. I say split the difference and get 14 gauge.........
