Still made sense to get the Rocky set cheap...probably will only be the first film and they will charge what the whole set cost for one with minimal difference (to most people but the anal).

Not going to double dip on this one. Love the movie, but not enough to replace a perfectly fine blu.

Fantastic news regarding both films.

Here's hoping that Fox can at least get the Italian HD master for TGTBATU.

They also need to include the original mono mix and the Theatrical Cut as well if they can get hold of them.

Actually I took the deal on the collection last night, so if they do remaster the first movie, I'll just swap it out.

Precisely. I'm okay with the transfer with a movie that, even cleaned up, won't exactly be a pretty sight. But to have a new transfer for "TGTBATU" would be great. I want to see at least the quality of the "For a Few Dollars More" transfer.

I don't know if you created a thread for GBU, but I have my fingers crossed they put on both cuts.

Remastered Rocky is coming out on blu-ray in Europe in February It would be a major surprise if US edition doesn't occur in the same month.

Did I mention that this is going to be another 4K Remastered release by Fox/MGM?

French edition will include around 4 hours of extras.

Audio commentaries by: Sylvester Stallone, boxing legend Lou Duva and Bert Sugar Boxing, John G. Avildsen, producers Irwin Winkler, Robert Chartoff, actors Talia Shire, Carl Weathers, Burt Young, and the inventor of the Steadicam, Garrett Brown

+ more.

Wow, that is great news! Definitely gonna be double dipping for this. I wonder what other MGM movies could be getting 4K releases. Silence of the Lambs? Makes me wonder why they didn't do this for Carrie.

Instant buy for me. Don't care if I have to import if it comes to that.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly has been confirmed.

Not sure if there will be any other 4K upgrades. I can see Escape From New York happening, but his destiny is probably tied up with rumoured remake.

You're safe from importing. The only real question here is when is going to be released in US. Most likely in February as well.

Can anyone tell me when Rocky's color timing was given a red push? I was at my Uncle's house this summer and he had a Rocky collection dvd set that didn't have the red push (it had it's normal color timing that is always had before), but my Rocky collection dvd set has the red tint look to it. His dvd boxes were regular size, and my dvd covers are slim size.

I'm predicting that the rest of the sequels in the box set will just be the regular Blu-Ray editions packed into one? I'm not even sure if anything between Rocky 2 to 5 need remastering because the original has always been the one in need of a clean up.

There's a bunch of behind the scenes stuff for all the Rocky movies on youtube that aren't on any dvd/blu-ray release. I doubt they'll be in this new set either. Going off the beaten path here, but I would LOVE a commentary from composer Vince Dicola for Rocky 4 to hear his insights on what inspired him to make Rocky 4's soundtrack. People always give part 5 crap for being the one that sticks out, but to me Rocky 4 sticks out as the black sheep in terms of tone.

And that's why it's my favorite movie of all time.

I have only seen four of the Rocky films so far, but II is kinda dull and IV is awful, so I'd probably pass on a box set.

Exactly. V is CITIZEN KANE compared to IV. They call him Rocky in IV but I'm pretty sure I'm looking at Rambo. He sure doesn't remind me of Balboa's character in the other films.
