Yeah, the Walmart here in Mankato, MN had Hostel part 1 and 2 a week and a half early. I guess their people don't pay attention to release dates.

Mankato eh, well I'm about 45 minutes straight east of you. can you guess what city. we got cars and the pixar shorts films on blu-ray back in our backroom here at walmart where I work. I would of loved to break street date but the title is to recognized. ratatouile blu hasn't showed up yet, hopefully tomorrow. spidey blu trilogy sold out.

An obvious mistake...but I grabbed it!

I can't believe I got the disc this early!

So check your local Walmart as they might've broken street date as well. It rang out no problem.
Where are you at? Which Wal-mart?

I live in Toledo, Ohio. The Walmart that had it early was the Spring Meadows Walmart in case anyone lives here. They had about 3 copies out after I bought mine.

Holy shit the image quality. The opening race is probably the best thing I've seen on Blu-Ray yet. So many colors, all sharp and popping. That, my friends, is reference quality. I couldn't believe just how amazing that scene looked. Anyone who sees that scene on Blu-Ray will be hooked for life. I am tempted to rewatch that part of the movie just for how amazing it looked.

There is digital noise in the sky during the flash backs of Radiator Springs. Aside from that the image quality is incredible.

Sound quality is good bu I don't want to give out any rating. My sound system is pretty basic but it sounded great to me. Im sure once the audiophiles get a hold of this they'll be able to give it a proper rating. It sounded really good to me though.

Toledo huh? I used to fly in and out of there a lot. Unfortunately it is too far away for me now! Oh well, guess I will just have to wait until Tuesday. *sigh*

One Man Band (Pixar Short)

The Epilogue (the stuff that plays during the credits)

Mater and the GhostLight

Are all in HD as well in the special features.

Bounding Cars is in SD (and it looks like shit compared to the HD...its actually a nice contrast that shows you just how amazing the HD is).

They have this really weird commentary set up thing called Cine-Explore. Its hard to explain but you are able to choose the director or the production commentary on demand, switch into documentary shorts and deleted scenes. It has windows pop up giving you different pictures. Its the ultimate in interactive experience. I don't care about that stuff but its neat if you enjoy that type of stuff.

Disney went all out on this release.

I encourage everyone to pick it up.

A lot of the Disney Blu's have cini-explore. I have not tried it out yet but it seems like it would be a good thing to set up the different special features you want to watch and the order you want to watch them in and then just let them all play. I do not watch most special features so i really dont care. But it seems interesting enough.

Guys, hopefully someone can help me out here... I just need some clarification about the audio selection on Cars. I know the first release of cars has a 24 bit LPCM track, I just saw today at Costco (in Canada BTW) there is a release with a 16 TrueHD track, whicn totally surprised me. What is the audio option on the latest release, I thought I read, I believe on this site, it was going to be a 24 bit DTS Master Audio track?

Please help... thanks.

Everytime I put this move on I'm blwon away by the detail and clarity of the picture. It's just jaw dropping I feel that way about all the Pixar movies though, but this one really is a standout. Gotta love Pixar

I never owned it previously, but this version is a bluray/dvd combo and I believe the older ones only had a blu and/or digital copy. This is a MUST for people like me with small children in the house with portable dvd players. I've been slowly replacing my kids' Disney dvds with the blu versions, but ONLY if they are the combo packs so I can sell off the dvd versions. I believe this one, Wall-E and Ratatouille are the only ones that don't exist yet in a combo.

Yea, nice that they matched BB's offer, but too bad we can't use the 2 MFG coups' to make it another $18 off, & only pay $20 for these.
