That would be pretty cool. I hope they end up doing this in the new game.

I was checking to see if a release date has been set yet for this game. Amazon has it listed on December 21, 2014 which I already know that is a placeholder release date, while Walmart had it stated that if you pre-ordered it today that you would get it by or after 6/30/2014

Is June 30, 2014 the release date? I don't think it is only because the first game came out June 26, 2012, 7 days before the actual release of The Amazing Spider-Man movie was released. I'm expecting we will probably see a March/April release for the game to work with the May 2, 2014 release of the sequel.

I'm sure it will come out right around when the movie does. I think the first game came out a week before the movie.

I kinda hope they include the suit from the first movie cause I really enjoyed that suit and went out of my way to buy the Halloween costume last year. I'm getting used to the new suit but yeah...

I'm sure that they include the first suit in the game. I wonder if they will included any other suits that we have seen in any of the other Beenox/Activision games?

I liked how Marc Webb/Sony did with the Spidey suit and that they wanted to make it seperate from the Sam Raimi suits so to make it feel that this was a seperate universe because when the movie was announced a lot of people thought they were remaking the first movie over again which couldn't be farther from the truth as we know.

Thanks for the recommendation. How does Spidey 3 compare to the first Amazing Spider-man game? Looking forward to more free-roam Spidey. The first game was surprisingly well done for a movie tie-in.

I'd rather them not use the film actors as the voices as it seemed to work well with the first game! Plus sometimes the big A list actors don't always sound like they're enjoying it!
Not to mention, they'd command higher salaries, which is money better spent on story, graphics, game mechanics, and other elements of the production, IMO

Spiderman 3 was awful, especially in comparison to ASM. The controls werent good, nor were the cameras. There were too many indoor segments, most of which didnt work and the mission structure was a bit repetitive. Now I didnt hate it as much as others did at the time, but really it hasnt aged well at all, especially if you've played ASM, which is far superior.

Never played Spider-Man 3 but a former friend of mine played it and said that it was awful. He said a lot of what you did was saving people and taking them to the hospital. Is that true?

Yes I fully agree with this. Bruce Campbell's additions were the only highlight. My only issues with ASM are the movie, rather than the game... Spidey's web shooters being stolen oscorp tech. Talk about blasphemous...

In the Amazing Spider-Man Movie it showed Peter ordering the stuff from Oscorp. How was the web shooters stolen?

Looking forward to this game more than I thought I would, assuming it plays like the last one: same or more refined mechanics, better graphics (new gen editions of course), original story, rather than a rehash of the new movie.

I hope this game is good. I am a little worried they haven't shown much, however they have had a long time to make it compared to the first one. I just hope they show some gameplay soon.

Edit: Apparently a new trailer came out today.

I saw it today and thought that the graphics looked great, I think it is cool that we actually get to play as
[Show spoiler]Peter Parker too, not just him in the Spidey suit
like the last game.

Found this.
Quote:
Thomas Wilson, Co-Studio Head at Beenox, talked a little about the game:

The first The Amazing Spider-Man game gave players their own beautifully animated, free-roaming city of Manhattan to traverse and explore – a playground of majestic scale in which to live out our common hero fantasies. And the overwhelming message from fans was: ‘MORE!’ That’s what our team is working toward with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – we’re giving gamers more abilities, more upgrades, more challenges, and more freedom to progress. And with the game launching alongside the new movie, offering an expanded interactive experience beyond the film, fans of the franchise won’t want to miss playing it.

You can also expect a new ‘Hero or Menace’ system, which rewards you for your crime-fighting efforts, or adds consequences for letting bad guys get away with crimes.

The Beenox Twitter account posted some details about the game as well, which you can read below:
•When it comes to the PS4 and PS3 versions, “Story, characters and gameplay will be the same.”
•There are no plans for a PS Vita version at this time, “But as you may remember, we didn’t plan to release a Vita version of the first game either.”
•The reason it isn’t coming to Vita is because “We have to support other platforms (including new platforms) and don’t have the time or resources to do it properly.”
•They tried a first-person view for swinging around New York, but “It’s a big no. Motion sickness at its best!”
•The story of the game revolves around Peter hunting down Uncle Ben’s killer.
•Peter’s appearance will change automatically throughout the game.
•While you do play as Peter Parker and have to do some investigative journalism, “you will not only take pictures.”
•“Webs will now attach to buildings. You can’t webswing over Central Park. No more webs-in-the-skies nonsense.”
•You will be able to use various web fluids, such as sticky web, impact web and cryo web.
•“You will be able to use different kinds of web fluids, in combat and in navigation.”
•When web slinging, you need to use both triggers (likely L2/R2 on PlayStation).
Hope this answers your questions.

I know, makes no sense, they just released the first one, would have been perfect. There's no reason they can't.
