I live in the US and I purchased both FROGTOWN and HELLGATE. Should be here soon. These were both blind buys. Hopefully, they'll make a great double feature.

Don't expect much from both.

I wonder if they will do this with "White of the Eye"? I hope not.

I've decided to take a blind on this ; it's a film I've been curious about for years, but have never got around to seeing. Oh well... if I don't like it I can easily make my money back on ebay.

How is the transfer? Is it so much of a B movie that it seems more at home on DVD (or VHS, even) or is it genuinely worth checking out in Blu?

I thought the movie was super campy in a wonderful way and hilarious. PQ was OK but I assume expecting anything better would have been unrealistic.

Definitely not - it's a completely different situation. For starters, Arrow paid for the restoration themselves (in other words, they've shelled out far more upfront than they did on Hellgate and Hell Comes to Frogtown), so it's very much in their interest to produce and sell as many copies as possible.

Whereas with the other two they've been completely upfront about their strategy: they originally planned to make the films DVD-only but HD masters turned out to be available, so after crunching a few numbers they worked out that they could produce 1,000 copies of each without breaking the bank - hence the limited edition strategy to encourage them to sell out sooner rather than later.

Totally agree, the 80's cheesiness works great in Frogtown. "Eat lead, froggies!"

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper was a much better actor than Hulk Hogan.

Too bad Hulk Hogan never got the proper roles, the best thing I think I have ever seen him in was Thunder in paradise. That's not really saying much.

It's been over a week ago since my 2 copies of this movie shipped from Arrow... How long does it usually take for Arrow releases to get to the USA from Arrow themselves???

The vagaries of international shipping can always introduce unexpected delays.

Just watched this and HELLGATE the other night. Yeah, probably the worst double feature I watched in a while.

Hellgate is barely watchable, even the brief skin in it can't save Hellgate. I think classic wrestling fans will like Frogtown a lot better.

I watched Hell Comes to Frogtown last night. It had been a long time since I had seen it last on cable. Initially, it wasn't living up my expectations, but I got into the "spirit" of the production soon enough. Piper really saves this film with his line delivery. It sounds like I will have to watch the commentary for this one sometime, which is something I rarely do.

Hellgate is next...

I have never seen Hellgate before but I have heard it is near unwatchable, Hell comes to frogtown on the other hand is good in my opinion it has a lot of fun moments. I have always liked Rowdy Roddy Piper as an actor.

When I order BDs from amazon.co.uk, They always get to me within 1 week. I thought Arrow would deliver in this timeframe. I guess not quite that quick. I suspect it will be here toward the end of this week.
