The closing stores are now 40% off, the Criterions are gone (pulled? Hardly a deal at average of $48) but if there are independent titles (Kino/Olive/maybe Shout[clawed Die Monster Die]) and boxset (Enterprise/Dr Who/etc) you want now would be a good time to check the stores.

![]() In my experience their prices were always set so that they'd be a few dollars cheaper than HMV using their discount card, but a few dollars more without. |

Seems like they might be competing with the Cinema 1 in the same mall to see who sells the most copies at MSRP

I was at the White Oaks location today and most of the blu-rays that they had were used titles. This location has just been remodeled so I'm thinking that it will be similar in stock to the new ones that will be going nationwide. If my thinking is true....there won't be much for movie lovers at their local Sunrise. We'll have to wait and see.

I was at Sunrise in Burlington and they had used DVDs for $5.00 each.
Inside the store, they had previously viewed BDs for $5.00 each also. In their catalog they have a pretty wide selection, but most titles were around $29-35. They didn't have a lot of BDs though. |

I guess this is the burning question for all of us here as we prepare for Sunrise to go nationwide. Luckily, I have contacted the company and they have agreed to let me share my answers with everyone. Here's what they have told me via Facebook message regarding movies.
We are going to have catalogue in all stores. We are going to have promotions for catalogue as well. We will offer all the major new releases. We are creating a model inventory based on the top items from each studio. This includes all genres, including family and tv as these have the most growth. We would like to offer as much as we can in store, but it is impossible to carry everything. We will be offering special orders for titles we don’t have in stock as long as it is still in print. In addition, I know that Sunrise prices are generally some of the highest around. They have previously told me that being priced competitively is going to be a high priority for them. As I said, this is information directly from Sunrise via Facebook. I've posted this elsewhere but I thought I should put it here as well so that the information is getting out there. I'm sure we're all waiting to see what will happen with the new Sunrise locations. It sounds like things are looking pretty good. |

You know I would be okay with Sunrise if they would cater to physical media exclusives such as SteelBooks, Digibooks and special edition packaging.
Nothing too weird like the LABYRINTH house (I'm surprised they sold them all at HMV), but I would support a local retailer if they were to provide SteelBooks at a premium like Zavvi does in the UK. I think there might be a market there. |

I think Sunrise will flop if they don't have a proper online store.
