That's weird, because on amazon it says Univeral/Playback, yet it's on the Paramount schedule...maybe they made a deal behind the scenes? Oh well, I'm just happy it's being released!

Think that's wrong, it'll be updated when they get the right info. It says it's a 15 cert which it can't be if FWWM is included and it states 1410 mins which is the Gold Box Runtime... oh and it still says Number of Discs 1...

FWWM was re-rated as a 15 for the most recent release.

If Paramount are indeed releasing it, I have to see more info before I purchase it.

If they follow their recent trend, they will remove most or all special features for the UK set, and then release it in the US with plenty more content, at a fraction of the price.

If they release it without the deleted scenes and the US does, they may as well not bother releasing it, as no one will buy it.

Put in a pre-order just to secure price, given the French release was listed at €70 when it was up £49 might be a touch lower than the final price. Obviously gonna hope for a full informative press release soon though, if it gets too close to the release date and we don't know 100% whats included i might cancel it then.

I dont know, PLAY Universal can be hit or miss.

I'm tempted to pre-order this, but I think I'll wait to see if there are any differences between this and the US set.

Nope. It was shot on 35mm film I believe. The remastered DVDs looked great for the most part but funnily enough, I always thought that the pilot or at least some of it was shot on tape. It looks a bit cheaper at times.

I wonder if the BDs will be the HD masters they made for the DVD release?

We will have to wait and see. Everyone has said the HD versions on iTunes look amazing and after all this waiting, I have a feeling it'll be a new scan.

The HD transfers on Netflix Instant in the US (probably the same ones on iTunes) will almost certainly be used on the Blus and they are gorgeous.

Some examples from Netflix, which look great even with noticeable streaming artifacts:

Yep, I'd be very surprised if there was a new transfer. That being said, really doesn't matter, the existing HD transfer is easily good enough, it looks fantastic.
