I reviewed this when it came out for my high school newspaper. Back then I fashioned myself a "cinema snob" and gave it a horrendous review. Years later I revisited it and had a blast. I'd like to go back in time and tear that review to shreds because this movie is ridiculously fun

My favorite part of this movie was the shot they took at Fast and Furious. You make a film this bad and have the nerve to take a shot at another movie. LOL!

Both The Fast and the Furious and Torque are produced by Neil H. Moritz, so it's as much a shot at himself as anything.

Alternate universe where physics are different. Same laws that apply to Ice Cube landing the bike on the train and the jet cycle being able to blow out windows and rip parking meters out of the ground.

Typing this makes me want to crack a beer and watch this again.

One of my favourite guilty action pleasures. I'm a huge fan of Jospeh Khan anyway and absolutely love his movie Detention. Will be importing this to the UK as soon as i can.

Just got it from Amazon, after about 7 minutes in I can say that I am VERY happy to finally have a home video release that can indulge the excesses of this film. The DVDs compressed audio and inability to handle the complexity of the visuals severely handicapped everything that makes this movie such a blast.

That's good to hear. Post back when done, I'd like to know how bad the later cg effects look. Reviews of this disc are understandably scarce.

The later CG effects look very CG and very silly as they should because that's exactly what they are, but I think this is an exceptional transfer both for Audio and Video. This is a grainy, fast-moving film that the DVD didn't manage well at all. The audio is everything I hoped it would be, loud and full. I could not be happier with this long-awaited disc.

Thanks for your thoughts. The other couple of reviews I've run into say the same thing. The movie is what it is, but the disc is a winner. Especially with the effort most older unpopular catalog titles are getting these days. I will have to put it on the wish list.

I completely agree

This is definitely one of the better transfers I've seen lately. I really enjoyed the chase at the end it was as fun and fast paced as I remember. Oh and the "I live my life a quarter mile at a time" quote is a hundred times funnier in BD quality (just in case anyone was wandering)
