?Experience? Why are you on this site, or any other for that matter? If its just the titles your intrested in(at the moment), and you know all, you dont need to involve yourself in the fourm discussion. If you desire statictics and trends , information about the format, its future, current events, the forum is your place. but be prepared to deal with the general public. and many of us are on this site because we belive it is the best format, prepare yourself for this as its catching on. Like I said, take it or leave it. We (majority) prefer blu ray. If this upsets you, log onto amazon and you can look over whatever movies you like, in whatever format. You can enjoy your(moment), whatever.
But dont expect a warm welcome when discussing HD DVD on a blu ray forum, not a lot of suporters here. Go to a Chevy car club and talk about your Ford. same response, garanteed

I cant argue with you and i will not.

BUT look how Warner deals with BD equally to the specs of HD-DVD,For the time being they are fixing it.300 is a good example.
I did not choose my format because of marketing and misinformation,i pick my favourite format since inception and maybe before.but i cant choose a loosing format without fighting back with facts and truth. If paramount are encoding correctly their format now because of BD.except for some titles who can and will deserve the best once released on BD in Future.

Actually I wasn't discussing HD DVD. I was complaining about all the other threads bringing HD DVD into the discussion and talking in a disparaging manner. I was trying to get back on the topic of discussing Blu ray instead of maligning something that ISN"T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE ON A BLU RAY ONLY SITE!! end of story. I didn't bring my preferences or tastes into the discussion. I was only trying to get on track. If you want to use this site as an HD DVD hate so then I guess there's nothing that can be done.

NEWS BREAK: Blu ray forums discuss Rival HD DVD. As wrong as that must seem to you, that is what is on the minds of many people. You first posted your complaint on a Blu vs Red thread. Why? Thats what its here for. Your beef has no merit.

sigh, in all politeness (really I'm not trying to be po'd or antangonistic) but I think I'm done. I've said my opinion, time to let sleeping dogs lie.

Some of us haven't forgotten your past at AVS. I hope you've turned over a new leaf and that all of the BD-bashing is behind you.

All I will say is that less bashing won't hurt anyone, but likewise no bashing is impossible.
I for one have stopped using HD DUD cause the HD DVD camp will just use it against us when they read this forum, which I am sure they do.
I think that those who want to support HD DVD can go ahead, i can't stop them, but i will try to talk them out of it. Why? Cause I feel buying HD DVD is a mistake, and will be a waste of money. Like buying Beta Max, your money is better spent elsewhere. Blu-ray has the support, it has the titles, the sales, the manufacturers, content, the capacity for more....
Blu-ray has the future, and I can not see as good a future with HD DVD when it has already reached its maximum potential.

here's my 2 cents on the subject. i think that 1/2 the threads on this site don't have anything to do with hd dvd. i think that most of them do with problems that need help, sales/deals on BLU-RAY movies, and different home theater products. sure most people (including myself) have used the term HD DUD. but that's not exactly making us fanboys. we're just pro BLU. another thing is your wikipedia post says fan boys ignore facts, well it looks like HD DVD supporters are the ones ignoring the facts. i think bashing them is perfectly fine on this site.

I think if you are looking for it, you will think that 1/2 the threads are about it. it is all perception. Just like when you buy a car, all of a sudden you see them all the time, you never noticed them before....because you weren't looking. Now that you have a (Insert car name here) now you see one at every stop light.

Wormraper may still be burdened by the constant bickering from his days at AVS and is on the defensive. I say, ignore it. Or, move on.

I wouldn't expect people to stop saying HDDUD here, I say it and I own HDDUD.

I have to agree with the OP, the amount of HD-DVD (I just can't bring myself to type HD DUD, that is sooooo lame) threads and posts on this site is nauseating. But, some people feel the need to tear something down to build up what they support, so rock on.

PS, please don't anyone bring up the "we're trying to inform people" nonsense. Chances are good if someone found this website, they're pretty well informed.

I think for many this is a safe haven on the net for being Blu. If you go to any other tech forum online it's predominantly HDDVD biased. And any talk of Blu in a pro light gets you beat up pretty bad. Those people come here with relief and a lot of built up animosity toward HDDVD, it's fans etc.

This is true. A lot of people on here are tired of hearing about the FUD and spin and misinformation and abuse and name calling from other forums like AVS. I myself have found many forums to be very unwelcoming to Blu-ray promoters when they should be neutral forums.
So people probably take out their frustration here. But despite this it is fairly tame stuff. The name calling is mostly DUD and the like, but I have heard some very very bad things on other forums.
I think this is more or less a well behaved forum and the mods keep it that way by deleting the trolls and potential trolls very fast.

*chuckle. I hope you really looked at my post history. Except a few posts about a year and a 1/2 ago, I never once bashed blu ray. I only responded against people who were making ridiculous claims. I stated that I had an issue with the extra copy protection of blu ray and I made no bones about that. I'm a fair use advocate. If that bothers you then so be it. Now that AACS is pretty much circumvented and BD+ is showing the chinks in it's armor I have no bones about blu ray. As of today my blu ray collection beat my HD DVD collection. Not because I like one more than another but because I could get them for cheaper. I enjoy blu ray a lot, I enjoy HD DVD a lot, end of story for me. Another issue I had was price for the BD players, not that we're seeing prices drop to less that $400 ($300 is my limit) and I got a Phillips BD player for $225 from a forum member I'm in the Blu game. If you look at my lengthy post history I said MANY times that I would buy a BD player if they came within my price limits. And please don't bring up that laughable tier thread. That was an embarrasment to everyone involved. And it doesn't help that you were known as one of the largest Blu Ray "fans" so to speak on AVS and other forums. So please don't try to bring up peoples format preferences as weapons against them.

and I "came in here" not to ruffle feathers but mainly to gain info about blu ray deals and use the trade forum (I'm a skinflint, I buy 90% of my discs from bogo sales and forum members ). I'm here to enjoy blu ray and nothing more.

thank you, that's all the point I was trying to make. No bashing, nothing. Civil discussion is much more enjoyable (and adult) than name calling.

Call me a blu fanboy. I hate the other format, and I will not buy anything from them. You know most of the bashing that is done on this site is done through FACTS. OK! Facts, something that the other sites like ugh AVS have no regards for. They always come up with stupid shit to try to bash over. We use facts here. Did blu-ray sell 72% compared to (oh yes, here it comes) 27% hd-dud last week in the numbers. Yes, so I will bash them today, tomorrow, and the rest of that miserable formats existence.
