I was just speculating; I don't know what the maximum quality is from various film stocks.

There's an ad in the newest issue of Home Media Magazine that has the logo, "The Future Is Coming" #bttf2015 - and Universal copyright info at the bottom.

Here's a link - can't post a photo at the moment.

I got the UK edition a year ago , bought the US edition during last Black Friday and will definitely get the new edition if it is a new transfer from a 4K scan.

I'd buy a newly remastered version in a heartbeat. I've bought this movie so many times that another one won't matter.

The DVD upscales quite well as another alternative, and isn't plagued with the DNR like the blu-ray. But the laserdisc is worth watching just for the audio alone.

Aye, the DVD is closer to the pre-DNR master that's out there than the retail Blu-ray.

I skipped the Blu-rays but did do disc-digital HDX for I and II (Vudu HDX typically avoids the DNR that plagues Blu-rays). I couldn't spare the $2.50 for the boring pt III, DVD will suffice for that snoozer.

I see what you did there...lol

After missing out on the UK Steelbox 25th anniversary edition which looked like it was pure awesome, I'll be stoked if they release a similar version for the 30th anniversary...

Still waiting for power laces and hoverboards though...

Power laces are getting released this year from Nike (No joke) Link

Hoverboards you say? Last year a successful kickstarter campaign launched development into the worlds first hoverboards to get manufactured. Link

I'm personally routing for a 30th anniversary steelbook release.

I just want the trilogy, or Part I and III remastered, or let's say without the DNR and EE. Just a filmic transfer is all I need.
The current BDs are really terrible in terms of DNR and EE. Yuk!
At first I thought it was the make-up, but that turned out not to be the case.

Come on Universal!!!

Ghostbuster like remasters would be phenomenal.

Ghostbusters II is one of the best and most filmic transfers available on BD IMHO.
