According to epguides.com, the show returns with episode 12 on March 16.

The animation is odd at times, the design for Batman's face is completely off. If you can get past the dodgy CG animation, the story and ongoing character development is pretty great. Using Katana as a sidekick works quite well, it brings in elements of the DC Universe you really don't see much in mediums outside of comic books.

Cartoon Network put this on at a strange time for a series more geared towards adults than kids. It's definitely more mature than Batman: The Brave and The Bold, including adult storylines such as Katana's love life.

I don't think you'll ever see a complete season one release when it finally all airs on television. They'll just release a Part 2 and be done with it, if sales even warrant the second part.

It all boils down to personal opinion, but I'm a huge Batman fan (started reading the comics around 1975) and I really ended up liking this show, as it put just enough of a twist on things to keep the plots interesting yet not straying from what makes Batman the Batman! (another example is Batman and Lt Gordon are at odds, not friends yet...but his daughter Barbara is a big Batman fan....)
Thanks! I've been a Batman fan since around that same time too. Looking forward it picking this up then.

I love Nickelodeon's TMNT show, but the new Batman is downright dreadful if you ask me. Bad animation and lousy writing ensured I'll never see beyond the second episode. Nothing there that appeals to me at all.

I'm just happy they're releasing it on Blu-ray. I really didn't want to get it on DVD, which is being sold everywhere. I'm def getting it. I dug the show, surprisingly enough. Plus, if this sells well (DVD and/or the Blu), maybe CN will allow another slew of episodes to be made.

I'm happy any DC animation is coming to Blu-Ray but to be honest this show didn't do much for me. It's basically a CG version of the show The Batman but with lesser known villians. It lacks neither the strong emotional dark core of Batman the animated series or the fun various adventures tone of the Brave of the Bold which just makes it a bit ordinary. It's not a bad show at all but I'd greatly prefer a Blu-Ray release of Young Justice. Come on Warner what's the hold up for that one

Where would be the best place for international buyers to get this Blu-Ray release? as I'm hoping to avoid private sellers, due to higher prices.

I really enjoyed this show's run on CN and I am thrilled I held off on getting the DVD, I already have this pre-ordered on Amazon and I really hope WB sees fit to finish this show (its future episodes, whether they air or not), and Batman: TBaTB on BD, and then maybe Young Justice and Green Lantern TAS. Heck I would even take Teen Titans Go! on BD, but certainly not DVD.

EDIT: I also hope Warner puts out that JLA Trapped in Time movie on BD as well.

I was actually going to mention Spider-man : The New Animated Series. Honestly though, the more cel-shaded approach they took looked a lot better.

[Show spoiler]

Yes, it looks like the pre-order for the Blu-Ray was just recently added to Amazon. It is great to be able to get a new DC cartoon series on Blu-Ray, rather than having to settle for DVD only.

That's odd that Amazon is listing this as releasing the same day as the WBShop. I can't recall another Warner Archive release that received a simulataneous release at another retailer. There usually seems to be some delay....

Doesn't seem to be much awareness of this - DVD only but the 1968 Batman Filmation cartoons are being released in June.

I would've been surprised if Amazon shipped them today and see they have the status as "Temporarily Out of Stock". I see the price is down to $16.49. I didn't cancel my WBShop order since I would've been surprised if Amazon actually did ship them this week, but that was when it was close to $20. For $16.49, I would've waited.

Wouldn't this have been the first Archive title to get a same-day release through Amazon?

I don't know, going off the look from DVD that animation is crude compared to DC's line of direct-to-video movies. I think that it was probably produced as a piece intended for Cartoon Network and had a much smaller budget than usual. I don't think it would hold up that well in 1080P, if it was even animated at that resolution.

I think the listing on Amazon was a mistake, I don't think they were supposed to release it today.
