I also got the WB MOD of Freebie and the Bean... maybe WB Archive will release the Blu? It would be worth it. I did own the French Killer Elite BLU but I really want the TT release. |

So, I'm a fan of almost all things Peckinpah, and I find Jason Robards to be a great and hugely charismatic actor. In fact, The Ballad of Cable Hogue is one of my favourite films, and I always
[Show spoiler] .For those who've seen Noon Wine, would I like this ? I'm not a huge fan of The Killer Elite, so If I buy the TT disc, it would just be for Noon Wine. Thanks ![]() Last edited by AlexIlDottore; 07-19-2014 at 12:32 AM. |

Np!
![]() Here's an update from TT's FB page regarding Noon Wine: "NOON WINE is the unquestioned highlight of this release -- its first appearance anywhere in the home video realm -- broadcast only once on U.S. Television in 1967 -- rarely seen except on b &w kinescopes at occasional private showings over the last 45 years, and presented here in color (!) from a 2nd generation master (1" tape dub) that wasn't discovered until a couple of years ago and shown only once at a special screening at UCLA in 2013. (The original master -- a 2" tape -- was destroyed by ABC in the 1970s.)" |

I did not know this film was being remade. I'm not optimistic. Capturing anything like the uniqueness of the original will be difficult. But it may help people discover the forgotten gem from the '70s. And a BD of the original would be great. As for The Killer Elite I already have the French BD. |

I need to give TKE another chance; I've seen it a couple of times on the non-anamorphic DVD, and wasn't too impressed...however, since I'm a big Peckinpah fan I will need to watch this again...
IIRC, there was a re-make of this film with DeNiro?! several years back - don't remember much about that... |
