Interesting to see this. Maybe pick it up if it's Region-A compatible but I did see the slip at Wal-Mart and it was freakin' awesome. I darn near almost bought it right then and there.

don't get me wrong, I'm all for doing something different and new but at least do it right... I mean why not put the genie on the cover instead, now I think that would be really cool

Looks kind of like a psuedo-Beatles album cover. I'm probs going for that nice musical slip; one of the few times I'll import.

What genie? You mean the Zoltar machine?

If this had Zoltar on it somewhere I'd be far more inclined to consider it. What other universe has Zoltar?

Shame this was never considered as it's one of my favourite portrait shot posters of the eighties. Hanks' twinkle in the eye hints at the joy in this movie.

Will this ugly SB house the same disc as the US with both cuts of the movie?

Yes, except it'll likely be Region B or Free. Right now, I'm just about willing to buy the DVD to have Big back in my collection, so I'll take anything.

Got a free digital copy the other day, pre-ordered the steel. Tonight, I bump into a real life Zoltar machine, must be fate.

Good news for you and those who love Big but don't want the steelbook.

Big Blu-ray amaray is coming soon

I was excited about this steel before I saw it and then I saw it, now every time I see it I dislike it even more.
Will just get the amaray when it's £7-8 especially if the white parts turn out to be silver.

Well, I was saying if I couldn't find either US release, I'd probably look at importing. The SteelBook does look nice after all.

If you are an 80s kid, then this is the cover you would want

It may not be the greatest, but its the one that definitely sticks in my mind.

At the very least the inside artwork should be a shot of Zoltar

Thumbs up

Surely worth its current £6.99 price tag?

It's really hard to say. This movie is free on streaming services. If you're into this movie, you're probably of a certain age, most likely 30s to 40s. Does a middle-aged person really need a steelbook shrine of this movie? The answer to that question for most people is obvious from Zavvi's clearance price.

I don't think anybody needs a "steelbook shrine" of any movie. I think they want a "steelbook shrine", or whatever the case may be.
So your question, then, becomes: Do I want a "steelbook shrine" of this movie?
Clearly your answer is No.

Age, really, has nothing to do with it. Lawrence of Arabia is one my favorite movies(and steelbooks), and I wasn't even born when it was released.
