Same here. Well, maybe I quit 2 episodes into Season 3, but either way, it's wrong to blame the writers' strike on the demise of Heroes. That second season was a disaster well before the strike came along. Kring even admitted that it was a disappointment while the season was unfolding.

People (myself included) have been begging for it to come back after they left the series wide open.
![]() Lost obviously does not have that problem. It's over and done with. Whether this new take on the series is successful or not, we shall see, but I for one am stoked! 2015 is gonna be a big year, and not just for films. ![]() |

But their individual stories were spread out throughout different episodes. Whenever you saw most or all of them on one episode, it's because they're all connected and their superpowers allow them to travel back and forth to interact with each other (Hiro, Ando, Peter, Nathan, Daphne)

Kring fired all the comic related writers after the first season because they disagreed with his direction. He was LUCKY that he had them to make him successful since I doubt he alone had much to do with the first season's success. After that, we got to see what he was capable of, and it wasn't much. The show sucked from the first moments of season 2 (amnesia, really?) and never recovered. Nothing to do with the writers strike.

Some have it wrong... the Writers' Strike almost saved the show!
The show was going off the rails... too much trying to keep up with the Jones' and trying to appease the fans for their favorite characters rather than telling a story. The strike gave them time off to re-think... and they could have fixed the problems... but instead they went farther off the rails and abandoned the few good points of the first half of season 2. The original plan for Heroes was to follow a group of them for a while to the "end" of their planned story and then move on to some other heroes elsewhere for the next story... but fans liked certain characters, so they changed midstream and decided not to kill characters they had planned to kill and dump others they had planned to keep. It became a mess as they couldn't keep up with themselves stumbling over their own pencils doing rewrites to appease what the fans thought they wanted. |

To the doubters, I urge you to give it a chance. I understand why you're hesitant after the show dipped in quality significantly, but this universe still has potential. I can see this being great if it's a stand-alone story starring new characters.
My two biggest issues with the original run of Heroes were that they had far too many main characters, as a poster above me pointed out, and that the show got absolutely destroyed by the writers strike in Season 2. If they can make Reborn with a tighter cast this time I think this could be something special. NBC clearly recognizes that Heroes had far more potential then the show they ended up releasing, and I think this new miniseries is a way to try and capitalize on a great universe. I was always sad to think about how far Hereos fell from that first season, so hopefully this is great. Overall I think we all need to be more positive when networks take chances like this. That's my 2 cents on the matter. ![]() Last edited by WhySoCereal; 02-23-2014 at 05:27 PM. |

Personally think the best way to go, is to go the anthology route that was the original plan. New characters, new setting, new story each season. But I'd leave 2 years between each season to maintain consistency in the writing.
Really want the original theme song back though. Loved it. |

Hayden's doing Nashville, Masi Oka's doing Hawaii 5-0, and Zach Quinto is an A-lister most likely prepping for Star Trek 3 in 2015. Don't know how they're going to get the cast for this...
I still think that Season 1 was some of the best TV in the 2000's. But after hearing bad things from a lot of people I didn't continue after that. |

As for the show I would give it a chance. I thought it was extremely overrated from day one but i think I liked season 3 the best. Dont even remember much of season 4 at all. |

Look, I loved that first season as much as anybody. It was truly compelling television with many great characters. Kring and NBC proved over the following three seasons they had no idea what they were doing, practically rebooting the show each season in a vain attempt to recapture their former glory. If the people currently running Arrow got to manage Heroes Reborn, then I would be excited.

With that said, I do agree that a few cast members will probably garner a much higher paycheck. I'm thinking some of the episodes will focus on one character, to help with shooting schedules. |
