lol, point taken. I just hate how I go to the USA (I live right next to the border) and have to be careful to get the right bill because they are all the same color.

Yes, I hate that too. I envy other countries for their colorful money. I wish ours were colorful too. This pastel crap just does not cut it. Neither does the green.

I always wondered why Canadian coins were so similar to American coins.

When I lived in the Detroit area, there were often unattentive cashiers to whom you could pass a few quarters, dimes and nickels from South of the Border (look and see, Windsor is south of Detroit), and you had to pay attention that they did not try and pass them to you. They did not work in vending machines or payphones. In the past, it was probably a scam so Canadian shoppers could come to the States and pass the funny money at face value (back when C$1 was worth US$.65). It's going to backfire, now. I'll have to go up to Thunder Bay and pass my funny money. The GST probably still makes it a bad deal.
