I can't wait for the final season next year. It should be as good as the first season, and then we can buy it on blu

Thank you to José Padilha, Wagner Moura, Pedro Bromfman and everyone else involved in this fantastic series.

Did they say it was it's final season? Have a pretty good idea where they will go with S2. But it's named Narcos after all, and there's plenty of stories to be told after Escobar.

No, they didn't say that Season 2 will be the final one, and you're right that they could continue and tell other stories, but I'll be happy to just have Season 1 and 2, for the life of Escobar

I really hope that they wrap up the Pablo Escobar story and go on with another drug lord/cartel.

Default Narcos - Netflix original series

Didn't see a thread for this.

Quote:
Narcos tells the true-life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the globe and attendant efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It centers around the notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura) and Steve Murphy (Boyd Holbrook), a DEA agent sent to Colombia on a U.S. mission to capture and ultimately kill him. The series first season was shot on location in Colombia in the second half of 2014

Just watched this and thoroughly enjoyed it. Apparently it received a Golden Globe nomination for best drama series, and Wagner Moura was nominated for best actor.

Except for some anachronisms that are hard to notice unless you're looking for them, and Wagner Moura's Brazilian accent which only native Spanish speakers will really pick up on, I was surprised by how great this series was. Looking forward to the end of Pablo Escobar's story, and seeing who else they focus on in upcoming seasons...

I meant to post it in the TV Shows forum.

Didn't see that thread there though.

This show is fckn awesome I watched the entire first season a couple days ago. It's for sure the most realistic portrayal of Pablo Escobar that I've seen. Can't wait for season 2.

I'm on episode 6 or 7 and honestly they flew through this thing wayyyyyyy to quick instead of expanding his rise and fall over multiple seasons feels like they just steamrolled through it almost like a mini series.

Probably has to do with being an untested series on a limited budget. Maybe based on the success of this one, they'll slow things down for the 2nd season?

Personally they ran through his rise and almost into his demise so quickly I'm not sure what a season two would bring... I mean what? Just more government fights? We all know how the story ends and they were already on the downturn by like episode 4 in season 1 lol...

I'm really not sure what they hope to accomplish with season two or how they could spin it into more seasons.

Maybe they'll do half a season to end Pablo's story? That's the only thing that makes sense, unless, like you said, they focus more on the American government's side of the story.

Since the series name is Narcos, I don't think they necessarily need to tie it together. Each "season" could focus on a specific character. I think Pablo Escobar is just the most infamous, so a logical place to start, but there is a long list of sketchy characters to choose from.
