There's also a Japanese release, but yeah waiting for the Criterion release is probably best

If true, that is great news. The Brood is a major hole in my Horror collection. Hopefully Criterion will get Mulholland Drive and The Last Wave out before the years end as well.

The Brood is an outstanding genre film... Cronenberg at his best. His resume from 1975 (Shivers) to 1983 (Dead Zone) contains all his best work imo....

It's going to be sideways on my shelf 99.9% of the time anyway, so doesn't bother me! I've been putting off importing this for YEARS now because I thought a Criterion release was imminent, all that hard work finally paid off

It's hideous and bizarre, but it looks like actual effort went into it, unlike some of the other hated Criterion artwork of the past. I find it amusing. It's sorta odd they just flatout use the climactic reveal as the cover art, but whatever, I don't think anyone is going to be mad about spoilers for this particular movie. Though I suppose the internet has proven that at least SOME people will get mad about anything, so we'll probably see "SPOILERS" complaints shortly.

Hah. I knew "Crimes of the Future" was going to be included with The Brood's Criterion release.

Definitely going to get this and Mulholland Drive in the November B&N sale (if they do it again like others have reported in the past).

Wow, more great news today. The Brood is such a cool late-70s/Cronenberg horror movie. My collection felt very incomplete with out it. There has been some hope and excitement with other companies releases lately, but this and Mulholland Drive are the real meat of the matter.

I watched my DVD copy of The Brood recently and I didn't like it as much as I remembered. I'd much rather have Rabid or Shivers. I still plan to pick it up. The extras sound great.

I like the cover art . It's very creepy and sickly looking. Normally I find Criterion's art too boring.
