As said its over the last couple of years that both Arrow and Eureka are region locking to RB virtually all their new titles. Go back 3 or 5 years and it was the reverse most titles were region free.

So, who is going to provide me with a Region A Caligari BD in 2014? Anyone? Kino?

Will the audio essay by Mike Budd be ported over from the Eureka DVD? And will the Timothy Brock score also be included?

Kino has the rights, and I'd be surprised if they don't announce it within a year.

I'm surprised they haven't announced it yet. They usually release them around the same time.

Also EddieLarkin posted this on another forum.

Kalat on Caligari.

thanks for that link would be nice to see something similar included in the MoC booklet.

watched hitchcocks the man who knew to much a few days ago. and there is a interview where he talks about his times in germany etc.. about german directors. really nice to see all the influnce this stuff had around the world.

not to mention night of the hunter. probably everyone will remember that bedroom scene...

ive never seen Caligari before (like many other classic movies) , and consider myself lucky to see it the first time restored on bluray on a big screen at home

DVD Beaver just posted a review of the German restoration, which will assumedly be identical to the MoC edition, encoding aside.

Caligari is finally up for order now at the Eureka/ Moc website. Eureka gives a £1 discount to all pre-orders on check-out. Best thing, it's already in stock and ships now!

I ordered my copy earlier today, and got a dispatch confirmation within minutes! Can't wait to see the new restoration.

I just put my order in too. If it ships today it will probably be here tomorrow too, Eureka's shipping is the best.

I had pre-ordered Caligari at amazon in June or so for 12.99, so I guess I'll stick with that. I'd be happy to order Blacula from Eureka when it's up.

Good price!

I prefer ordering direct from Eureka, though, because of the free shipping, as I live in Denmark.

Yeah I have mine with Zavvi for just over £11 so will stick with it I think. Blacula I might get direct from Eureka though, once they have the pre-order up (my guess is the beginning of October).

The higher price than elsewhere put me off, but I caved. £13.99 and considerably earlier than anywhere else.

I would have bitten at the £12.99 they allowed some people to buy at during their recent sale. However only letting a few orders through and then upping the price means I am sticking with Amazon.
