Ti West never fails to disappoint. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Gene Jones performance was very good!

Two questions relating to The Sacrament perhaps somebody here could answer:

1 - Is it going to be released on Blu-ray in the UK?
2 - Is the US release region free?

I did a Google search to no avail.

Cheers.

Thumbs up

Just watched it and thought it was great. The second best Ti West film after The Innkeepers. It was incredibly engrossing and quite disturbing.

8/10 (B+)

For the record I gave House of the Devil a 7/10 (B-), mostly because I really dug its style regardless of it being deathly slow in the middle, and The Inkeepers an 8/10 (B+).

I'm a big fan of Ti West and it was the only reason I rented this movie. The best thing I could say is it just wasn't for me. It was basically a by the books telling of the Jonestown massacre. I thought it was well made but I was expecting more.

I watched it without knowing anything other than the basic story.
[Show spoiler]I was expecting some sort of supernatural element to manifest itself at some point but still enjoyed it.

Just watched this and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's very straightforward, but it keeps your attention. Plus, the climax was quite unsettling.

I enjoyed Ti West's previous directorial efforts and this one slipped under my radar until recently. I thought it pretty damn good and reviewed it on my horror blog (see below: This Dark Exegesis). I do reveal spoilers so caveat lector, but if you're familiar with the Jonestown Massacre (and I don't mean the punk band!) then this will hold little in the way of surprises. What makes this film work is actor Gene Jones' performance as Father! Wow, he's believable and scary as Hell!

Blind bought this and liked it a lot. Wish it was more original, though.

I watched this last night...and I have to say it is my favourite movie of 2014!

I knew nothing about it going in and initially groaned when I realised it was 'found footage'. BUT, it was expertly directed (like his other movies), had a quite brilliant gradual building of tension/dread and the climax was chilling/superb/jaw dropping.

I think it's best to watch this knowing nothing about it. Adds to the tension.

Sadly only available on DVD in the UK so I'm now shipping the US disc so I can re-watch with the commentary...

I also know nothing about Jim Jones so will check out the documentary posted earlier in this thread. Fascinating stuff.

Uh yeah, watch the doc. It's terrifying and a hell of a lot better than this, Ti West's worst film along with Cabin Fever 2.

Just finished this. Thought it was pretty good. This was my first Ti West film, so now I'm going to have to check out the others

I think this and Innkeepers are easily West's best films.

Had this not been region locked I would have been all over the new Second Sight Limited Edition release. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see this film released in such a physical collectors ready dream release.
