If we ever get a Female Doctor, I'd vote for Jaime Murray, after watching her in Warehouse 13 and Defiance, I think she's got what it takes, she can be funny then serious and the most important thing is she's a great actor.

A female doctor would have to be Helena Bonham Carter or Kate Winslet.

Even Ecclestone(who has yet to really convince me he is a Time Lord) can't be as bad as Capaldi. I will say from what I've heard, Capaldi's ineptitude is not all his fault. Some of the blame must be laid on Moffat.

Capaldi and eccleston, I would say, were, are the best since Tom, and Jon Pertwee. ,and that is from watching DW since I was just able to walk, I was born in 64...

The newer Doctors just lacked that certain magic, until Capaldi and before him Eccleston. The others were just Candy, sweet but no Substance.

Sorry if that offends people, but the new series just doesn't compare to the old one, no Comparison.

I don't like Ecclestone at all, figures the best episode of his arc to me would be one that focuses on Captain Jack and Rose Tyler. Doctor wasn't willing to do what it took to defeat the Dalek Empire so Rose and Captain Jack did it. I have liked all the classic Doctors, they felt more like Time Lords than Ecclestone or I'm guessing Capaldi ever did.

Michelle Gomez would've made an awesome Doctor if she wasn't playing Missy.

The problem isn't Capaldi, it's Jenna Coleman. Clara Oswald is the most obnoxious companion they've had in the rebooted series, and this includes Mickey. I was fed up with River long before they cut that cord and I'm the same with Clara, but at least River had some interesting back story and adventures. Clara is manipulative and crass. I hope this is her final bow this year.

I guess her hotness isn't enough to make up for her personality then, that's a shame. Wonder who the next companion will be, she's been on the show longer than any other companion. I always liked River, guess I'm in the minority on that one.

Since I'm not gay, nope.

My favorite companion was Rose because of her relationship with the Doctor. I think that's why I never bought into River/Eleven. Deep down I was still putting the Doctor's hearts with Rose. When he makes a point to see her one last time before changing, I was heartbroken. It's also a big part of the reason I never cared much for Eleven. He turned and never really thinks of her again. Nine/Ten kept feelings, he just never addressed it. It still bugs me.

Put me in the camp that thinks the Doctor is lonely and deserves to have somebody but shouldn't be romantically involved with his companions. That's why I though River was perfect for him, they obviously cared for one another but he never went overboard protecting her, they did save each others' lives more than once though.

I would have loved for Rose to have been able to have become a Time-Lord in some fashion and they could become the Hart-to-Hart of the universe.

I love Alex Kingston... but River Song's only good story, in my opinion, was her first/last one with David Tennant. Everything after that was just stretched out "look at me" stuff from Moffat that wore thin in a hurry.

I also like Karen Gillan, but very little of what Amy Pond was given to work with... she got a couple of really good times to shine (most notably in "The Girl Who Waited") but mostly was easy to forget.

I liked Martha... and also Donna. With Martha they at least played down the romantic entanglement and with Donna they eliminated it entirely.

I like Jenna Coleman, but the whole "Impossible Girl" stuff was just more empty-Amy-Pond-calories to me... I thought Jenna had much better stuff to work with last series.

The classic show has its flaws to be sure too... including some stories that don't hold up to the test of time... but I guess I expect more from the modern series than I did the classic one because I know they know how to make it better now, and it sometimes seems as though they choose not to do so.

I can't believe people don't like River Song or Amelia Pond, I've always adored them both. Heck, Rory's grown on me over the years and I despised him at first.
