By all accounts, the latest Pioneer Elite Kuro plasmas are the TVs to go for (but make sure you get the 1080P version!). They're (justifiably) pricey, though...

I just bought the Panasonic 50" plasma 1080p and am very very happy. What are they retailing for in the USA. It cost me €2800 ($4008).

The samsung dlp is a great pick up. you get the biggest bang for your buck but i would recommend checking out the led backlight dlp's the 87 series. better overall picture quality but about $200 to $300 more. check the hlt5687s.

the price is $1999, but after you add it to the cart it goes down to $1499. The thing is i really don't have alot of money to spend on a tv.

I have a 56" Samsung DLP and think it has an awsome HD picture. I think I paid about 1800.00 for it.

i have this tv except mine is the led light source, it cost a little more but you dont have to replace a $200 bulb plus there is no color wheel so you dont have to worry about that breaking.

Buy Samsung at your own risk. Some of you will remember the days when if you saw a caravan of Harley Davidson riders, there would always be a pick up truck bringing up the rear because someone was definitely going to have a mechanical problem. The same might be said for an extended warranty if you buy Samsung. Panasonic is the best buy for the money. Period.

Ok, I have to defend something here. If YOU remember back in the day, Harleys were working mans bikes, not the lawyer, doctors, etc, you see today having shops do all the work for them. Back then when you saw a bike on the side of the road you might have said "oh, there's another broken down Harley." But remember that bike was probibly 20-30 years old. Believe it or not most of the Harleys built are still around today. You can't say that about Japaneese bikes.
As for me, I have been on bikes for over 30 years and NEVER had as many problems on Harleys as I did on Hondas and Yamahas. They are the ones made from cheap metal and plastic.
And the two words I put into bold are Obviously false, as we never had a pick-up follow us, or had something "definatly" go wrong.

Never seen a DLP I would spend money on.

I think the Panasonic 50" plasma is the bang for your buck choice and the Pioneer Elite is simply amazing.
