He would be cutting off a huge source of sales if he didn't sell it on Amazon at some point, in some way. But it makes sense he would want to get as much from the people who know about it and are eager to get it.

I can't watch it until mid September anyway, so I'm content to wait and see what happens.

Absolutely one of the releases I'm most looking forward to in the last half of the year. Brilliant movie.
I'm hoping you're correct because I am having one hell of a time trying to order from his site. I can't get my phone number to take on the website and it's not optional. I tried different browsers and phone combinations.

May I ask if you had trouble ordering like I did? The site keeps telling me the phone number and country combination is not valid.

The bank I work for is refusing the payment, so I have to wait until I get an automated call to confirm it's a genuine transaction

I can't complain though. Someone ripped over £600 off my credit cards recently and I've had the money refunded, so at least I know my account is safe and I'm not out of pocket

No, that didn't happen. I didn't enter my country code just state/area code, I think their system guessed (incorrectly, but no worries as I think the phone number isn't really necessary) at my (+ Whatever) country code and it all flowed along smoothly.

Lucky you. I emailed the company and they are supposed to make the number optional but it will take a few days.

Panamint is making it difficult to buy this product. For those interested, this title is available on Amazon.co.uk and is sold directly by Panamint. But Panamint refuses to ship it to the United States. When I tried to buy it, I got a message saying that the seller does not ship to my location.

This just seems counterintuitive. Why would you voluntarily turn away customers?

Most US distributors cannot offer direct sales to UK customers, this is probably no different.

Personally, I need some reviews before biting. That's a lot of money for a blind buy, it's around Twilight Time pricing level.

Panamint ship to the US on their own website:

Was waiting for a review before buying given the price, now i'm going to jump. Shame they couldn't source the commentary and doc but they deserve support.

This is an amazing 3D release and should be an automatic buy for all 3D fans that can play region B movies. I've already watched it twice and it will keep you glued to the screen until it's over. Not a whole lot of popout, it's mostly at the end, but what there is, it impresses. This movie is mostly about depth, and in the desert with lots of shots looking down it certainly takes advantage of 3D and it adds a lot to the story. Easily the top 3D movie from the 50's so far.

Great movie, which I've been lucky enough to see twice in 3D on 35mm. I can play Region B, but not 3D so I'm on the fence here.

Outstanding release. Had never seen the film before, wasn't expecting much and was blown away. Superb presentation and highly recommended.

Without a doubt. What an amazing review. This kind of release deserves the full support of any golden age 3D fan by the sounds of it. I'll be ordering it in a day or so when I get paid.

A region A locked 3D title unavailable in the UK prompted me to go 3D multi region. Perhaps this is yours?

I was actually able to order thru amazon.co.uk and have it shipped to the U.S., but I didn't get the discount for the VAT like with regular Amazon orders.

I wrote about Inferno on the 3D forum. This Blu-ray looks absolutely spectacular, the best 50s 3D release so far and the movie is fun too. It has the extreme sense of depth I love about 50s 3D films and it's in glorious Technicolor. For me it's the Blu-ray release of the year so far.
