I already have Rear Window on BD and when I watch it, I am absolutely mesmerised whenever Grace Kelly is in shot; the transfer is good enough to make her eyes look like sapphire's. Plus it's topical at the mo with 'Grace of Monaco' doing the cinema rounds here in the UK
As for the 60th anniversary edition, not sure what can be added apart from new packaging ? We shall see |

Bought the 60th anniversary release the other week, it's one of my mother's favourite films.
When she watched it, she noted a couple of things which I'd love somebody to help clarify for me? Firstly, the colouring on the 60th anniversary release is terribly bright (e.g. the plants in the garden, with the reds and yellows). We recorded yesterday Rear Window HD on Sky Cinema and the colouring IS different (less vivid, more balanced). Does anyone else notice it? Finally, near the beginning of the film there was a brief shot of a helicopter. Mum didn't remember seeing it at the cinema or on subsequent viewings. Has this been included in recent years or has it always been there since the theatrical release? |
