A talkative slasher was pretty much what Death Proof was, and even Hateful Eight to a lesser degree. Also a talkative slasher sounds perfect on paper to me.

Good point about Death Proof, and it's easily his weakest movie (even QT says so). But Hateful 8 is more than just a slasher, I think that's reductive.

Yep, I've been saying that for a long time. Tarantino's style + slasher flicks? Epic.

That's why I said to a lesser degree, you can boil it down to a bit of a slasher (probably more of a murder mystery than slasher) but I agree with Death Proof is his weakest.

I's not that I can't stand the guy, and I'm not a fan either way (I think he's good in some films), it's just that I'm getting tired of seeing him in 90% of everything that has come out lately....

There are other actors.

I'd go for a Tarantino Giallo.

But there are no other Samuel L. Jacksons.

He should be in every movie. He's been in a lot of bad movies, but Sam Jackson has never once been bad in a movie, ever.

Destined to be an epic failure if true.

I'd rather see Michael Bay direct a period drama.

...or Lars Von Trier direct a comedy.

Interesting.

...considering the fact that he's widely viewed as Tarantino's De Niro.

Nobody reads Tarantino dialogue better than SJ.

He wasn't good in Jumper (nobody was) IMO. Also I enjoyed Kingsman, but did not care for his villain. That over the top lisp was a bit much for me. He does give his all in some terrible movies though.

I'm sure it would be the most depressing comedy ever made.

Don't forget about The Spirit, or 2014's Kite adaptation.
