HBO's or Netflix's retelling of The 2016 United States presidential election . I forsee it sweeping every TV awards Limited Series/TV Movie categories. Also easy wins for who ever is casted for Trump and Clinton.

As a kid, I don't recall thinking they'd ever try to make a film based on video games. The first one I remember is Super Mario Bros., which had some good moments but was 95% unfaithful to the series. I still want a genuine take on it though, in CGI form with Charles Martinet in the lead. I'd also like to see more serious films based on games like Double Dragon, or Metroid. The latter was in development in 2002, with John Woo directing...but the rights expired.

I'd like to see Jack Black as Mario. If you saw Margot at the Wedding, him with a mustache gives him an uncanny resemblance to Mario (he's also short, which adds to the Mario comparison).

I had an idea a while back for a Mario movie with Jack Black as Mario, Will Ferrell as Luigi, Kevin Costner as King Koopa (Costner was in contention to play Koopa in the 1993 version), Kristen Wiig as Princess Peach, and The Comedians of Comedy (Zach Galifianakis, Patton Oswalt, Maria Bamford, Brian Posehn) as some of the Koopalings. And as a nod to the cartoon series, the famously reclusive (and occasional Simpsons guest star) Thomas Pynchon as Indiana Joe.

And the 1991 film Double Impact is more or less the closest you'll ever get to a true Double Dragon adaptation.

Back to the Future and It's a Wonderful Life remakes. Because nothing is sacred in Hollywood. Put below average actors (probably of different genders and or races because that's so original) in front of green screens and try to make a quick buck. They'll be awful from the get go but they'll make them anyways.

Battlestar Galactica

It's time. Multiple Star Wars movies. New Star Trek. Guardians of the Galaxy. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The space epic is back. Time for another Battlestar Galactica.

It's a Wonderful Life was already remade with a female lead in 1977 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076213/

Have there been any decent Goatman movies made? I'm not even sure that's a thing outside of east Texas. My grandmother used to tell me about the Goatman as a kid, back when my parents dropped me off so they could go honky tonkin'. lol my grandmother was always telling me spooky shit, she also make up weird songs about all us kids. At the time it was funny because she'd pick on my cousins too, but thinking back now, she was just an oddball.

There were those SNL sketches from the 90's.

Not surprised that it was made and not surprised that I never heard of it. Won't be surprised if it happens again.

I don't know about Frank Capra's estate, but Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale have lifetime contracts prohibiting Universal from remaking the trilogy while either man lives. They have both said they are in the process, of expanding that arrangement to their respective estates.

I could see those rights being sold off like Star Wars by the next off kin and here we go again. I've already seen a couple of examples of inheriting family memebers who cared nothing for their parents wishes to keep property in the family and sold it all off for cash. So it's definitely in the realm of possibility. It seems that most times it's just about finding the right time and price.

Well, as a huge fan of the trilogy, I'd really hate to see its legacy ruined. Everyone involved put so much of themselves into that project, from Zemeckis and Gale to the cast, crew, editors, Alan Silvestri, etc. Its truly one of the best original time-travel efforts in the last 50 years, and my hope is it will remain intact for many generations to come. The best way to do that is for Zemeckis and Gale to make sure their wills are fully legalized, to prevent their estates from allowing any more versions of the story. Games and books are one thing, but the films themselves deserve their place in history and pop culture.

A Star Trek spin off that not only is set entirely on Earth, but it takes place 200+ years prior to the events of the original series.

Never thought there would ba a Transformers live action movie. Would like to see them do a remake of The Car, specially with today's effects.

Zemeckis gave permission for it though, and Bob Gale was one of the producers.

It's a wonderful life has been remade so many times. I cant think of a single 80s or 90s sitcom that didnt do an it a wonderful life themed episode.
