For me it would have to be Heat.
This has been in my top five for longer than I can even remember. But somehow I can't bring myself to watch it anymore. Part of it is the fact than I simply know it too well now that I've seen it so many times. But it's also due to the fact that I usually sink into a deep, debilitating funk for at least two days after I see it. From the moment my beloved Neil steps off of that LA metro train at the very beginning of the movie, I can feel my heart breaking. The music is so haunting and the bitter end is so tragic.
